Stephen King novels generally don't fare too well when adapted to the screen be it the cinema or the small screen. Sure there are exceptions like the shawshank redemption and the green mile but for every one of those there's an 'it'. The recent release of dreamcatcher was also a crushing disappointment after it's spooky trailers. misery just falls under shawshank as the best king adaptation because it's memorable, gets under your skin and has moments of sheer terror as well as some dark humour.
