Advantages: helps my fussy dog eat his food, resonably priced Disadvantages: smells pretty awful
I have a Border collie that is bordering an anorexic, he sniffs his food and turns his nose up at it, so it's very hard to try and get him to eat. He is very skinny, although Border collie's are meant to be quite skinny; he's a little too skinny so I searched our local shop for some food that would encourage him to eat his meals. Here, I came across Butcher's Tripe - which he absolutely loves.
Packaging
Butchers tripe comes in a bog standard can (similar to a baked bean can) and it has a pull top lid making the tin very easy to open. The label around the can is primarily blue with a picture of a dog and its owner out on a walk. Advantages: Lots of history, Educational Disadvantages: Damp and dark, Expensive
lots of information relating to the history of the place.
There is a certain amount of debate regarding how the Cave actually got its name, but there are two possibilities. Some people say that it derives its name from John Pole who was the man that owned this land that the Cave was discovered on. Others say that it was named after a famous local outlaw called William Poole, who is said to have hidden out in this Cave during the fifteenth century.
Poole's Cavern became a popular tourist attraction during Victorian times but long before this time the Cave was used by the Romans and even before that by Prehistoric Man over 2,000 years ago. The Cave itself is over 2 million years old.

"The Butcher of Smithfield" is the third in the new series Susanna Gregory is writing - the Thomas Chaloner stories. This comes after the success of the Matthew Bartholomew series set in 14th Century Cambridge.
The Thomas Chaloner books are set in Restoration London and the main character is a spy who previously worked for Cromwell's government and has had to find employment with the new government after the Restoration of the Monarchy.
The political backdrop of the new series is interesting and adds danger to Chaloner's exploits as he does not know who to trust.
