Advantages: Shows real talent when often its hidden. Disadvantages: Quite a lot of the tracks sound similar
...I have always been wary of the stereo typical satanic bands like Slipknot and Marilyn Manson and never saw to buy their albums but when I heard a couple of songs from this album I felt obliged to go out and buy it. I never saw myself as a heavy metal/music sort of person and Slipknot were exactly what I thought they would be but when i realised I liked it I was very suprised. It is very heavy but you can also tell that the singer Cory can actually sing very well when he tries. Most people think that people who make this kind of music have no talent but how wrong could they be, I hope that Slipknot know that they are being so different and that they are worthy of this rating. Go and buy it and prove people wrong!...

Advantages: Nice heavy guitar bashing Disadvantages: heavy guitar bashing gets boring quickly
...Brazils favourite heavy metallist Max Cavalera is back, and has released a second album with Soulfly, his new band, after his parting from Sepultura. This album starts with a strange noise, before the track starts. I can't explain it but I thought its worth mentioning. The album is pretty much typical heavy metal stuff, detuned hard riffs, and shouting. But thats what I wanted when I bought the album, so i'm satisfied. Max has several special guests on the album, such as Chino Moreno (deftones), Cory from Slipknot and Sean Lennon (John's son)
I think that this album does seem sort of "same-ish" ie. most songs sound very similar to each other.
Overall, the best songs on the album are "Jumpdaf**kup" w/ Cory, and "Son Song" w/ Sean Lennon.
"Son Song" is one of the most melodic efforts from Soulfly, and is dedicated to John Lennon, and Max...

Advantages: RELAXING & ATMOSPHERIC Disadvantages: BIT HEAVY ON THE PAGANISM,
...cover lists the tracks in an orange semi-Runic, Celtic font on a black background.
The CD disc is a silver and black display of silhouetted leafless trees and their branches. The inlay is probably the most beautiful I have ever seen. Photos of trees at different times of the year, photographed in all the seasons, some close ups of leaves also.
The night time photos I like. Very atmospheric. The lyrics of each track are in the same style of font but in beautifully different colours. Very artistic and beautiful. Makes a nice change from the blood and guts, horror and death of typical Gothic band artwork, I guess.
Compared to other Goth bands, like Siouxie and The Banshees, Sisters of Mercy or Paradise Lost, this album takes the essence of each and creates a different slant. The nature theme which predominates the lyrics of most...
