About the movie
The movie starts out with Hilary Duff trying on different clothes for her junior high graduation whilst singing along to the tune of Atomic Kittens cover of "The tide is high". Now that junior high is over and summer is here, the whole class is going on a school trip to Rome. Miranda can't make it because she's in Mexico. Lizzie's parents are down at the fact that their daughter is leaving home for two weeks.

For those of you who are unaware of what this programme is all about, I would therefore just like to start off my review with a short introduction in to how this programme came to pass. The McGuire Programme was established in 1994 by Dave McGuire (hence the name), himself a stammerer in order to help all of those other people who also stammer. It doesn't prpofess to cure people of it, but helps them in trying to lead as normal a life as possible through not stammering very much or hardly at all. Dave McGuire himself states that he is now aware that his stammer is 99.9% gone, although it is still there from time to time.
The approach that McGuire took to this programme came from as already noted his own experiences of stammering, but also his professional background of working in psychology with other stammering therapies and sports ...
