Rae&Christian's Mark Rae in 1995. Since then, it has grown (in reputation and influence, if not to conglomerate-shaking commercialism) as a force for some of the UK's most consistently interesting dancefloor-friendly r&b and hip-hop. Though Rae&Christian are the label's best-known artists (having worked with Texas, among others), there's no shortage of talent here--something that the label set out to prove with the release of theCentral Heatingcompilation. This 2000 re-issue of the compilation contains all of the original tracks from: Aim (the Evel-Kneivel-sampling "Original Stuntmaster"); the Funky Fresh Few (hip-hop the Afrika Bambaata way, with a heavy dose of Kraftwerk); Mr Scruff; Only Child (the label's r&b divas); and Tony D--with not a slouch amongst the lot. There's also a few bonus tracks from the likes of Rae&Christian, Andy Votel (who also contributes an interesting take on Black Sabbath's "Hand of Doom") and Aim--none of which may be absolutely essential to those who own an earlier pressing but a nice bonus for the rest of us.--Randy Silver

A cd thats a couple of years old now but still fun to listen to.
I mean this cd says its meant to help you through the housework but I personally dont think it really does,if anything it distracts you,because you just start singing along to all the great tracks this album has to offer, you get caught up in the music and completely lose track of what you were doing - maybe a good thing in a way :-)
Housework vol1 is a double album that has some cracking songs that you just dont seem to hear on the radio anymore such as The Beach Boys - Help Me Rhonda and Don McLeans - American Pie.
The songs on this album just make you feel good and really help to lift your spirits,but I honestly think its marketed wrong,this is a feel good album for anyone just not people doing the housework.I dont think the title of the album really represents ...

Hi, after buying this cd some time back i didnt yet realise how many good songs were actualy on this 2 disk set. Some of the well known artists which appear on here is, DJ Casper, Special D, Scooter, Kelly Llorenna, LMC vs U2, Ultrabeat, XTM and many more. (see below for full track listing)
Compared to any other compilations i have purchased in the past this one has been in the cd player the longest! its great to listen to anytime of the day and basicaly anywhere, whether in your car, house or at work!
This CD is a huge compilation of variousartists and will be enjoyed by anyone who listen's to it. It follows the genre of more of a clubby/trance/electronic disk comapred to other 'chillout' disks.
Overall i rate this CD 10/10 and i love it!

Well, not really at my age, I just go to work with the C.D playing in my car at a nice leasurly pace, but its nice to have good tunes playing to put you in the summer mood and with the No.1 Summer Dance Album Vol.1, The - VariousArtists you can have just that. Good tunes for a reasonable price of around £ 6.99 depending where you buy it. On amazon it?s only £6.49 at the moment and if you look on Ebay you can get it buy now £6.99 or cheaper if your willing to bid for it.
The cover is very summery with a picture of a young girl dancing in the sea, conjures up the images of warm summer beach days. A happy picture and eye catching if your looking for the C.D compilation in the shops. It is easy ...
On the limmited edition it has all the music videos on it as well! An excellent touch I think!
The cover is the only downside that I have found, it looks nice now but after time it's going to be a bit scruffy as it's made like a hard back book with no plastic covering. (*)
