...The Beta Band made 3EPs, releasing them with good reviews, but not gaining general recognition. But as time moved on, people wanted to get "Patty Patty Sound EP" etc. only to find it had become a collectable and costing a small fortune. And so the idea of releasing the 3 seperate EPs as one album was born. Getting the songs to the fans for a fraction of the price. And what a gem this albm is. From the repetition of "Take me in, Dry the rain, the rain, the rain, the rain, the rain now" to "Needles In My Eyes, Cripple me tonight, alright" there is no getting away from the fact the Beta Band have not only got a distinctive sound. Steve Mason's haunting voice, choir like on many songs. But they also have lyrics that are catchy and simple. And by keeping things simple, there's a very relaxing quality to this album. ...This album is truly, quite literally unbelievable.....I am still trying to believe that it is him who is making these sounds...has he got a drum kit and decks with him apparently not...This is backed up on track 13 when he is live and shows the audience that he is actually making these noises without aid of anything but his mouth...You have to listen to it 4-5 times to believe it but only once to enjoy the truly fantastic lyrics and beat…I borrowed the album from my good friend Seb who has also written a review on the beat box champion of the world….so don’t forget to read it....thank you seb for introducing me to raz....Marklampo.......
