Advantages: Some Really Catchy Tracks Disadvantages: Can Be Saming Wont Appeal To A Large Audience
Alkanline Trio released this album in 2005 much to the joy off the vast majority of there fans. If you enjoy punk/rock/emo etc this album is defintely worth a look.
I would also recommend it to other people who enjoy music. If you enjoy a vast erray of genres i would recommend this album. It is just "hard" enough to distinguish it from pop but is not heavy enough to burst your eardrums - thankfully.
Alkaliine Trio have released another album this year called Remains which i personally didnt enjoy as much as this one. May just be me as i have lots of happy memories with this album, but if you have heard that album and enjoyed it definetly get this album.
You can pick this album up really cheaply now its 2 years old. On itunes it is £7.99 however i suspect you can probably pick it up on somewhere such as ebay or amazon for alot ...
Advantages: non I can think of Disadvantages: arkward to fit.
Having to move the Trio regularly from one car to another I find that the threading the seat belt through the seat around the back and back out and down to the seat belt catch, while the recoiling mechanism of the seat belt is working against you, makes the whole process very tedious and prone to twisiting of the seat belt it self.
The catch on the harness is extremely poorly designed, having to match to sides of the harness clip together before fitting in to the catch. The problem is that there is no positive locating point to hold the two halves of the clips together and with a wriggling toddler the two halves slip apart before they can be engaged in the catch. It's a real nightmare when the baby is crying and getting upset. The comfort pads which I suppect should be in front of the baby tend to position themselves more on top ...
Advantages: amazing piano improvisation Disadvantages: not for people who don't appreciate improvisation
One of the most respected pianists of our time, KeithJarrett, gives with the "Koln concert" a good definition of what improvisation is. Innovation, creativity, the feeling of uncertainty. KeithJarrett is the kind of pianist that emerged during the 60's deeply influenced by Bill Evans and got mixed up with all sorts of jazz styles: fusion, bop, funk, avant garde and even classical music. In this recording you can find all his musical influences, concentrated in an improvisational way, unfolding in front of your eyes, or maybe ears. The result is quite amazing, if you think that KeithJarrett wnated to actually cancel this concert because the piano that he was provided with, was not of top quality. For people who love piano and moreover improvisation in general, this is certainly a priority choice. ...

Album Notes
Keith Jarrett Trio: Keith Jarrett (piano); Gary Peacock (bass); Jack DeJohnette (drums). Recorded live in Denver, Colorado; Lexington, Kentucky; Houston and Dallas, Texas in October, 1987. Includes liner notes by Keith Jarrett. Keith Jarrett's trio usually plays standards, but this time out it performs four Jarrett originals, all of which possess a gorgeously hypnotic openness. The slowly evolving moods (a simple theme is started and undulates over the course of an extended improvisation) and folkish bearing have a great deal in common with Jarrett's solo recordings. They evolve by addition and subtraction as subtle variations on the core melodic identity of the piece. Bassist Gary Peacock's dazzlingly playful performance on "Dancing," and drummer Jack DeJohnette's explosive improvisations on "Ecstacy," are just two moments among many that display the trio's powerful strengths. The four pieces were recorded live, each in a different city, during a US tour in 1987. As usual with ECM Records, the sound quality is pristine.
