Before I start I must warn you that I AM a Beatles fan, I'm also one of those who prefer PAUL to JOHN... So watch out.
Chaos and Creation In The Backyard was released in September 2005.
TRACK ONE 'Fine Line' First song released off the album, great track, upbeat a good one to get up and have a little dance to if ya want or maybe play some air-piano.
TRACK TWO 'How Kind of You' Nice song, too much to say about it, it's OK but not a fantastic song. Quiet and mellow and layed-back. Good one to crash out to. Nice chord changes and tidy vocals.
TRACK THREE 'Jenny Wren' I heard this was dedicated to Heather... who will NEVER be Linda... But OK she's here now. Paul said that this song was "Blackbird's daughter". If you haven't heard BLACKBIRD listen to it NOW! It's on the White Album! I like this track ALOT, but it's not the best.
TRACK FOUR 'At the Mercy' A bit repetitive for me, and it's another mellow track. Not a great one, not much to say.
TRACK FIVE ' Friends to Go' Nice song here, good one to play on the 'ol acoustic!
TRACK SIX ' English Tea' This is my personal favorite! When you listen to it you'll be thinking 'ARE YOU MAD!?', but trust me... this song it so quaint it'll make your eyes water LOL! VERY TWEE!
TRACK SEVEN 'Too Much Rain' I love the chord changes in this song. When you hear Paul's solo stuff you realise what a HUGE influence he was in The Beatles... I know that's an obvious statement but still...
TRACK EIGHT 'Certain Softness' This song is a fantastic chill-out song. Very summer in the sun, happy-smileeeee song. It's another great acoustic track that you have to lean and play!
TRACK NINE 'Riding to Vanity Fair' A no-fuss song that does seem to keep on going-and-going, don't get me wrong it's a good listener, but nothing like 'Fine Line' and 'English Tea'.
TRACK TEN 'Follow Me' To be honest quite boring.
TRACK ELEVEN 'Promise to you Girl' Reminds me a bit of a few Queen tracks, I'm referring here to the harmonies used. Starts off all sad and then (in the typical PMC stylee) kicks into a piano led happy get-up and dance song! A wicked solo my new Les Paul is going to like this track!
TRACK TWELVE 'This Never Happened Before' Like 'Follow Me', it doesn't grab my attention enough. I drift off and start thinking about other things...
TRACK THIRTEEN 'Anyway' When saw that this track was over 7mins I thought whoa, get a cuppa on. Then after about 3mins this track finishes, and I thought that's wierd then this kool tune begins, which changed my view on this track. The tune is AMAZING and does actually rival the full tracks on the album.
I would recommend this album to everyone! Although I've said some songs do send me off, I wouldn't say that, that puts too much of a black mark on the album. I'm still loving his chord changes, his skill on the piano, he can still reach the high notes (if you ask me) and I think Beatles fans will also appreciate the album! A great buy!
