There are a few songs which do get spoiled by the fact that there are rappers at the start, during and ending in some of her songs which, make some of the songs, not so relaxing anmore.

Mariah Carey has brought out many albums, this happens to be one of my favorites, I have a few others of hers and this one sounds like some of the older music she used to produce than the modern music she has been producing lately.

If you like Mariah Carey and enjoy listening to her music then this is the album to look out for.
this album didnt actually do very well in the uk when it was first released, but DO NOT let that put you off!
this is one of my favourite ever albums. it is a different sound for mariah, she doesnt 'belt' so much when she sings , like all her other albums, but her voice still sounds amazing, i think its got some of her best vocals. when i first got this album, it took me a couple of listens before i got used to it, some of the songs have a bit of a complicated structure on the first listen. it features collaborations with artists like jay z , freeway, and camron on the song 'boy(i need you)' which was a unique sounding song originally by camron himself, but mariah liked it so much she did her own version and its pretty good.
it starts with one of the more 'traditional' mariah sounding songs, the powerful 'through the rain'. it is ...
Advantages: Perhaps considered a guilty pleasure... Disadvantages: Voices are nasal. Lyrics/music are standard.
Masterpiece theatre is pretty bland.
This album is forgettableand their voices are far too nasal for my comfort. Also I am sure that some collaborations with people who can actually sing would brighten the whole album up just a tad.
If you haven't heard them at all before (like me up until i bought it) I wouldn't recommend getting this album. It's just so not enough from an album.
The songs are bland with no stand out tracks at all.
The whole album is so dated even at the time of release. Sort of like MariahCarey before "The Emancipation Of MimI" when she was trying too ahrd to be urban. Anyone remember "Charmbracelet" or "Glitter"?
The songs are lyrically non-descript. Pumping out what you'd expect from R&B. My guess is En Vogue are over
The album cover is really uninspiring but there's no doubt that these ladies ...

After Mariah Carey seemingly hit a creative and personal bottom between all her emotional upheaval, a lost label deal, and a flop film debut, CHARMBRACELET appeared to be the highly anticipated record that could very well decide whether she could regain her status in the pop world. Fear not, as the Long Island native bounces back nicely by playing to her strengths as an exceptional balladeer and someone with an ear for a catchy fusion of hip-hop beats and R&B rhythms. Carey's flirtation with rap continues as she shares a mike with Cam'ron on "Boy (I Need You)" while sampling his song of the same name, slips into the slow rollin' "Freeway" with Jay-Z and the groovalicious West Side Connection hook-up "Irresistible". This uber-diva also goes to church with the gospel-flavored "My Saving Grace," admonishes Eminem for starting unfounded rumors of a romance between the duo on "Clown," and does a fine job turning Def Leppard's "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" from a metal power ballad to a smoother lament. All this cathartic venting is topped by "Sunflowers for Alfred Roy," a heartfelt tribute to Carey's recently deceased father.
