Advantages: laid back Disadvantages:
...How could anyone not like this album? It grooves along with hardly a bum note. The singles 'ex-factor' and 'doo wop that thing' are here which are both brilliant in their own ways. My personal favourite is one of the two hidden tracks - a re-working of Andy Williams' 'can't take my eyes off you'. It sounds strange but it is really well done. Hill's vocals are, as ever, perfect and there are some guest appearances from greats such as mary j blige, d'angelo and carlos santana. Buy this to chill on a summer's day....

Advantages: Quintessentially English Disadvantages: I only listened to the compostions I am familiar with!
...This is a double CD of traditionally English composers, among them are 3 of my favourite composers, Vaughan Williams, Elgar and Delius.
Included are the some of the works of Warlock and Butterworth which are just as notable.
William Bennett- Flute
Iona Brown- Violin
Nicholas Kraemer- Harpiscord
Sir Neville Mariner- Director
The Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields.
I love Ralph Vaughan Williams, as I was exposed to his composition and works as a youngster in wind band. Musically Vaughan Williams is famous for his woodwinds and versatility in Military Bands, but has been adapted to full orchestra.
Elgar, famous for Nimrod withinthe Enigma Variations and Delius are more orchestral in their composition.
The CD
The CD opens with the title track and Vaughan Williams.
Fantasia on Greensleeves
I adore this peice being a Flautist...

Advantages: 2 Fantastic scores, great informative inlay Disadvantages: On the verge of being unavailable
...Without doubt, a 'must-have' piece of merchandise for fans of the 1969 retelling of the crucial fight for air supremacy over Britain, and the Channel, in 1940. Fans of the film will also be aware that it contains a jarring sequence late in the film, where Allied and German aircraft engage in combat to a suite of music completely unlike any other in the movie.
'Battle in the Air' feels out of place for the simple reason that it IS out of place. Composed by the celebrated SirWilliam Walton it remains the only piece of his original score in the film. Producers got cold feet, ditched his painstakingly produced efforts and brought in the far more commercial sounding Ron Goodwin, who rescored the movie from scratch.
In a nod to Walton, the producers and directors retained his 'Battle in the Air', whilst American prints also included his...
