Advantages: Lots of bangers Disadvantages: A couple of weaker tunes
"Chemically Imbalanced" came out in 2006 as the sixth album from the Atlanta Hip Hop duo, the Ying Yang Twins. Not even remotely related, the pair come with more of their high-energy material to show that they are just behind the pioneer (Lil' Jon) when it comes to Crunk hits, and on top of beats from Collipark, it is bound to come out with bangers from start to end.
1. "Intro"
2. "Keep On Coming" ...takes them back to the Old School days of Hip Hop (which many claim that the Dirty South acts have neglected). It is a bouncey track, and starts it off well, to make sure that you are ready for the energetic club music that they are about to present to you.
**Four Stars**

"Chemically Imbalanced" came out in 2006 as the sixth album from the Atlanta Hip Hop duo, the Ying Yang Twins. Not even remotely related, the pair come with more of their high-energy material to show that they are just behind the pioneer (Lil' Jon) when it comes to Crunk hits, and on top of beats from Collipark, it is bound to come out with bangers from start to end.
1. "Intro"
2. "Keep On Coming"
The way that this one is done takes them back to the Old School days of Hip Hop (which many claim that the Dirty South acts have neglected). It is a bouncey track, and starts it off well, to make sure that you are ready for the energetic club music that they are about to present to you.
**Four Stars**
3. "1st Booty On Duty"
This one is a killer track, and amongst the best that you will find on the album. Collipark may be criticized by using the same bass drops as on "Wait". However the way it is used on this one is enough to make you forget about his first try at it.
**Five Stars**
4. "Jack It Up"
The fact that this one has a female R&B singer, Taurus, doing the hook for this sets it up to be a much more balanced tune from them (as a lot of their Crunk tunes are a little too in-your-face and overly masculine). Everything is put into proportion for this one, and it gives them a chance to tone it all down, but they still manage to make it their own.
**Four Stars**
5. "Jigglin'"
As soon as I heard how this one began, I knew that it was going to be a killer tune, and they certainly live up to this hype as they take the screwed hook to a work it into a Crunk tune. It was inevitable that the Houston technique would be crossed over to the club-suited Atlanta work, and it came out successfully.
**Five Stars**
6. "Take It Slow"
On this one, they go back to their Snap Music days as Collipark chooses to soften things down for a tune which would have been perfect for a single as they rap in a rather soppy way about their happiness with their girl. Los Vegaz is on the chorus, and his ung R&B vocals are what allows them come across as sincere.
**Four Stars**
7. "Patron" (Lude)
8. "Big Boy Liquor"
This one seems to drag out with a slowed format, and it seems to stress the fact that it gets them turning to an alternative appraoch at rapping of this one. It seems to go back to their earlier days, but on the less club-suited tunes.
**Four Stars**
9. "Smoke Break" (Lude)
10. "Collard Greens"
The pace is dropped for this one, and it follows on directly from a similarly-themed tune as they rap about smoking cannabis, and how they feel as they anticipate feelings they will go through once they have a hold on it. It is a dark one, and very different to the rest of the album.
**Three Stars**
11. "Water"
You have them returning to one of their old hits on his one with them on top of the Charlie Brown-styled melody of "Naggin'" and give it a new Crunk makeover with heavy beats and synth. It is really well done. They also use a little "Apache" too whilst rapping about how hot they are making it.
**Five Stars**
12. "Dangerous"
I saw this as a rather misleading single from them as it has them performing with Wyclef Jean on top of a Rock-inspired tune, and this recording is of a much lower standard than the rest of the album. It has a completely different feel to the remainder of the record.
**Two Stars**
13. "Family"
You have the whole thing switched up for this one as they lay off the club music for a while and calm things down in order to speak a little on how hey have come to be what they are, and all that they have lost along the way. The sombre one is pretty strong for them, and certainly works.
14. "Friday"
Using vocal percussion (beatboxing) for the basis of the production, you have them livening up the mood of it all by doing a track to get you excited for the weekend. It is a banger of a tune, and I'm sure that all of those who are into the peaking Crunk hits of the mid-'00s, you will be enjoy this one very much.
**Five Stars**
15. "Leave"
I wasn't quite sure about this one as it seems to be very different from what they are known for as you get them on top of some Latino-styled work. However, it has been a turning point in uniting Atlanta's and Miami's Hip Hop, but not with Bass as before, this time through the Reggaeton scene.
**Three Stars**
16. "One Mo for the Road" (Lude)
17. "Open"
Despite coming towards the end of the album, you have them choosing to get them energy levels up to their peak once again as they take it back to the clubs and rapping to the heavy beats whilst speaking of how much they are enjoying their tiem watching the girls in the place.
**Four Stars**
18. "In This Thang Still"
To end the album off, you have a track which follows on from a couple of past recording which they made. They are given a chance to take things to a new place as they choose to rap about how they have been top dogs in the Southern Rap scene since the late nineties and blew up on the hype of the Crunk breakthrough "Get Low".
**Five Stars**
This is a great abum from the pair, and there is very littel to complain about on it. They come with the best Crunk tracks that have been heard, and show that they are still able to pull out something new in what was a dying sub-genre to Southern Rap. Don't let "Dangerous" mislead you into thinking they have tried out something completely new for this one as they go from some more big club rap tracks.
I love the Ying Yang twins and this album is yet another success. The songs are a mixture of hip hop and gangster rap. Thier very distinctive voices make them different to other artists of the same genre. 'Dangerous' was the first song released from this album and my all time favourite, It features the vocal talent of Wyclef Jean. The subject of their songs are mainly strippers and women therefore there is some bad launguage although i believe you ...

Album Notes
Ying Yang Twins: D-Roc, Kaine. After getting a taste of mainstream success, as have the Atlanta duo Ying Yang Twins, many hip-hop acts are faced with a dilemma: how to please their original fanbase while at the same time expanding their appeal. On their fifth studio release, CHEMICALLY IMBALANCED, the Twins have come up with a compromise. As Mr. Collipark explains on the intro, the first half of the album is "for the diehard Ying Yang Twins fans," while the second half, influenced by East Coast producers Wyclef and Jerry Wonder, is "a little different, somethin' a little more musical for y'all." Kaine and D-Roc still bring it with nasty, booty-shakin' rhymes over the signature neck-snapping crunk beats, and their Patron-sippin' club musings-- "Watcha call big booty girls in line/The march of dimes, the march of dimes"--are as infectious as ever. At the same time, slower smoothed-out tracks like "Take It Slow" and "Family," as well as undeniably catchy bounce beats like "Dangerous," present listeners with a new, more radio-friendly sound.
