Advantages: Great lyricism and production
Disadvantages: Some collaborations let it down

..."Blue Collar" is the debut album from the Chicagan rapper, Rhymefest. It came out in 2006 after he broke out of being simply an underground freestyle rapper around Chicago by collaborating with Kanye West on a track named "Brand New", which gain him much attention and got him some mainstream attention. 1. "Feel Free" (Intro) 2. "Dynomite" Just Blaze gets things going as he comes out with a strong composition to get you ready for Rhymefest's raps on this album. On it, you get 'Fest display why he was able to attract so much attention when MCing on the underground circuit. **Three Stars** 3. ...the singing. A nice end to a fine Blues Album. Bob Margolin gives a few lines about the song or history of it after every track in the sleeve notes The album is the same as they were live. Bob Margolin came out to his audience in the interval and even signed the cd I bought. We also sat next to the drummer in the pub across the road before the concert. This is an excellent album, buy this if Blues is your thing, some of these musicians have played in Muddy Waters Band. Pinetop Perkins for twelve years. How's that for a recommendation for an album? Advantages: Decent entertainment
Disadvantages: Non-fans of the show will just think they've ruined the songs

...from buying "The Simpsons Sing the Blues" when I saw it on sale in Asda for £3, as I figured that the amount of entertainment it would provide would outweigh the number of duff notes they would hit. The album opens with "Do The Bartman" which was a number 1 single way back in 1991, well before "The Simpsons" had become as popular in the UK as it is now. It's certainly a very dated song now, being the kind of pop-dance-rap hybrid that was so popular at the time. The song was supposedly written by Michael Jackson and there are a couple of "Thriller" sounding moments and Michael Jackson references which suggest the man has a better sense of humour and more of a tendency to poke fun at himself than I would previously have credited him with.
