Advantages: Double use as a cabinet and baby changing table, inexpensive, easy to assemble Disadvantages: Flaking paint on the changing table after a while
I bought the Hensvik changing table/cabinet designed by Carina Bengs a couple of years ago from IKEA for £85.
I was expecting my second baby and loved the idea of the double use in this piece of furniture. First, it can be used as a changing table for your baby and when one is no longer required, the changing shelf can be removed and a second book shelf can be easily fitted into a slot above and there you go: you have a lovely looking book cabinet.
The assembly was fairly simple. The instructions came in true IKEA style with pictures but the assembly was easily manageable with those. The Allen key and all screws were included, so you can unwrap, assemble and use. The assembled size measures as follows:
Width: 75 cm
Depth: 41 cm
Height: 161 cm

Advantages: One of those "greatest film ever" regulars, and with good reason. Disadvantages: None.
There is something inherently eerie, otherworldly, about silent pictures. There is nothing theatrical about many of the performances in, for example, Benjamin Christensen's masterpiece Haxan), even the nature of the musical soundtrack, disembodied and carrying on with little synchronisation with movements, actions onscreen...
Eerie, yes.
And how much more so when these elements are wrapped around a picture already reeking of the uncanny? A picture, perhaps, like Robert Weine's 1919 The Cabinet Of Dr Caligari.
