The Chillout Session from ministry of sound is basically what it says on the box, a laid back mix of blissful beats and chilled out house. Now, don’t get me wrong, you may like this album, but it was far to slow for me. The reason I bought it was because I knew a few of the songs that were on it. I was looking for Euphoric Breakdown, which is another kind of chilled out mix compilation album but the shop I was in didn’t have it, so I opted for this instead. For me, the music played on the CD is just too slow, maybe a bit too chilled and I just couldn’t get to grips with liking it.

There are a few tracks on the CD such as ‘Rob D – Clubbed to death’ that make an excellent track to play in the background of a lazy evening, or when your lying in bed with your eyes shut, other tracks such as ‘Moby, Sneaker Pimps and york’ also stood out to me.

There are 2 discs that come with this chilled out CD. Disc 1 which claims to be full of blissful beats and disc 2 which is supposed to be chilled out house. Disc 2 was my favourite. Half the time on disc1 you couldn’t really tell if you were listening to electronic, dance or even classical music. It was all there, and that’s what seems to be the problem, its just not consistent. Disc 2 however, seems to be a bit better, but that’s just my tastes, however, it did take time to get used to!

So what’s the album good for? Well you know those evenings where you come in and just want to relax? Well, stick this on in the background, veg out on some food, have a cigarette and it will relax you, trouble is, you won’t want to get up again. It’s also perfect for listening to when your soaking in the tub, or even when you have come in from a big night out, theres nothing on TV and your not tired yet, you just want to relax. It’s perfect for those sort of occasions. However, I won’t be keeping it, I’m taking it back to the shop today and im going to exchange it for something else!!

I will warn you now, this CD doesn’t resemble anything I have heard from Ministry of Sound before!

I will list the better known tracks, but I’m not going to list them all otherwise I’ll bore you aswell as myself!

- Disc 1

Fatboy Slim feat. Macy Gray – Demons
Chicane – No Ordinary Morning
Sneaker Pimps – 6 Underground
Rob D – Clubbed to death (Excellent tune this one!!)
Moby – Natural Blues
Basement Jaxx – Being with you

- Disc 2

Jakatta – American Dream
York – The Awakening
Sasha & Emerson – Scorchio
Underworld – Cups
Wamdue Project – King of my castle
Amber – Sexual
Leftfield – Melt
Watergate – Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence (Heart of asia)
Energy 52 – Café Del Mar
William Orbit – Barbers adagio for strings

My fiance was ranting and raving about buying this album, and after she bought it I found it very disapointing. A poor selection of tracks and weakly mixed. I'm very tempted to put a fat scratch down one of the cds and take it back for a refund! ;-) Good op. - Mike.

My friend was raving on about this album, and I am not into dance so i didn't know what to expect really, but Im not stupid and i know what the 'regular' Ministry albums sound like, but this album was so poop! I mean it really might as well have just put Now 38 on the front

Surely the main aim of this album is to ease a painful comedown although i'd agree that it's still very dull. Get a copy of Lifeforms by The Future Sound of London if you want a good chillout album. Cheers
