Advantages: Great food, nice setting Disadvantages: Don't come too late if you're driving - the car park is a bit titchy.
One of the nice things about writing reviews is that every now and then you get to know someone on a site and then realise that they actually live not far from where you live or work and friendships can move from the internet to the real world. Such was the case recently when I arranged to meet for dinner with a fellow member of dooyoo.co.uk. After debating the various options we worked out that for both of us Frodsham could be a handy location and I suggested 'that Chinese place on the way into Frodsham from the Preston Brook end of the town'. I think most people in the area would know it from that description but a bit of googling quickly identified the restaurant name as the Chinese Delight.
Frodsham, for those unfamiliar with the area is located just south of the M56 between Junctions 12 and 13 and offers scenic views towards ...
Advantages: Good food, service and surroundings Disadvantages: Not disabled friendly; minimum charge
I can't really explain why it took me more than two years to visit Tang's Chinese restaurant which is recommended by the Michelin Guide, especially as it is only about five minutes' walk from my home. Meeting my son and his partner early one Sunday evening, I suggested that it did look worth trying. We arrived at 6pm and found the restaurant to be completely empty. Two Chinese waitresses attended to us, and one showed us to a table on one side. The décor is typically Oriental, very elegant and stylish, with a pagoda-style bar. Our table was set with side plates, chop sticks with porcelain rests, and large linen napkins folded like a fan and arranged inside wine glasses. One tablecloth was set diagonally but was removed after the main course to reveal a second one underneath.
Menus were brought and we each ordered a glass of fruit juice ...

Album Notes
For musician Jah Wobble, it's been a long, strange journey from bassist for legendary post-punk group Public Image Limited to electronica and world music Renaissance man. Born from a commission for the city of Liverpool's Capital of Culture year, CHINESE DUB represents a cross-cultural collaboration between Wobble and a 22-piece outfit consisting of Mao and Tibetan ethnic musicians and dancers, Sichuan opera mask changers, and an Anglo-Chinese dub band. Blending the cutting-edge dub-inflected rhythms of electronica with traditional Chinese instrumentation and folk melodies, CHINESE DUB is an adventurous and wholly original marriage of East and West, as well as the ancient and modern.
Album Reviews
Clash (magazine) (p.100) - "CHINESE DUB is wonderful, from start to finish....The listener is taken on a journey through Chinese landscapes, guided by the bass of Wobble and reggae/dub percussion."
