...After the departure of two of the bands most influential ‘Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants’, the bands fifth album, was released with great hype and expectation to see if the new members could retain the old sound of the band with a new look Liam and an apparently apprehensive Noel around the release of this album no-one knew what to expect from it. ‘Be Here Now’ had in the eyes of many failed to reach the levels of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ simply because the album didn’t contain a song which was as successful and well known as ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’. However, this didn’t stop the music actually being as good. ‘The Masterplan’ drew together some of the bands greatest B-sides and kept interest in the band flowing awaiting the release...

...The Dropkick Murphys are a band that combines the sound of Irish Folk music with punk rock. Listening to the music you can hear how the band has been influenced by the likes of the Pogues, CockSparrer and the Clash.
The end result is a unique style of punk that in itself has influenced other American-Irish Punk bands.
The bands lyrics are heavily influenced towards their Boston, American, Irish and working class roots.
