serving decksmiths. His musical taste is notoriously broad (hence the title Choice), ranging from Latin, through disco, funk, hip-hop, house, nu jazz, soul and to whatever other sounds he finds emotive and irresistible. This collection is intended as an introduction to some of the tunes that have influenced Francois over the years, so that there's an inevitable mixed bag to choose from. Bona fide classics sit next to mouth-watering rarities, with a distinct emphasis on deep, funk fuelled disco and a few select house tunes. Slick biscuits like Shalamar's "Right In The Socket" bump next to David Joseph's glitterball classic "You Can't Hide Your Love" and the tribal thump of Jo Smoke's "Koro Koro" while Colonel Abrahams' "I'm Not Gonna Let" hustles with Frankie Knuckles' lascivious classic "Baby Wants To Ride", and Donald Byrd's "Love Has Come Around" does the freak with Lil Louis' "If You Luv Me". An entertaining and colourful romp through some of music's Good Times, Choice is also a fine insight into one of dance music's most dedicated protagonists.--Paul Sullivan

An artist who I have heard a lot of (every track actually) is Robbie Williams. Here midway through the second CD is the anthem for young and old 'Let Me Entertain You'. Another track which does not jump out as deserving to be here, as the guitar riffs are few and far between, but it is a welcome inclusion for me, because I warn you, what follows is a very mixed bag, which starts with 'Oh Well' from Fleetwood Mac. I would have preferred another of their tracks as this is a poor one for me, and I feel the same about the next track 'For Whom The Bell Tolls', except with Metallica, I despise everything they do!
A more guitar based song, and one I...
