...sod it, I never wanted to be ciao reviewer, I wanted to be a Lumberjack, leaping from tree to tree… and so (edited a bit) opens probably the second best known song on the CD. It tells of a Lumberjack, who is initially very macho, then reveals that he wears high heels and a bra. He's a lumberjack and he's ok, he sleeps all night, and he works all day. Written by Terry Jones and Michael Palin 4. Penis Song (The not Noel Coward Song) This is inspired by the Noel Coward piano songs, again the words took me aback the first time I heard it: Isn't it awfully nice to have a penis, Isn't it frightfully good to have a dong? ...Etude to the perfectly executed militarism of the Polonaise Militaire, and breathing new life even to the most over-played pieces such as the Nocturne in Eb. The collection is refreshing and exciting- there are some less well-known Chopin pieces thrown in for good measure, and these serve as a light relief from the 'big guns'- such as the Nocturne in Db, No.8. It is difficult for me to emphasise how enchanted I am with Idil Biret's playing- I apologise for the constant repetition of this. There is not one interpretation that I would disagree with, indeed, when learning the Revolutionary Etude I found her input indispensable- this is a rarely unleashed piece and she plays it in a style not only adept at the discovery of meaning behind the piece but also crucially at the technical methods by which Chopin would have let these loose. Dazzling pianistic virtuosity and sensitivity
Review of Rarities of Piano Music at Schloss vor Husum, 1998 by  skriabini

Advantages: Wide range of little-know music played live by world-class pianists
Disadvantages: None for those who enjoy classical Piano Solo music

...dance, originally danced by someone who had been bitten by a tarantula) and is best appreciated as a Tarantella. The most famous tarantella is "La Danza" written by Rossini. This Study is similar in some ways to Rossini's work. Hamelin has recorded the complete Chopin-Godowsky etudes (on Hyperion). It is interesting to compare the live performances here, which are more spontaneous than the studio recordings. Hamelin then plays "The Gardens of Buitenzorg", from Godowsky's Java Suite for piano. This is one of Godowky's many little-known original works. This piece is not a virtuoso display piece, but an evocative description of flowing water, perfumes and emotions experienced in an oriental garden. Hamelin portrays this wonderfully.
