* Mary Queen of Scots and Her Hopeless Husbands (Dead Famous) Review *
This book is part of the quite popular Dead Famous series which I quite recently got in a box set and each book averaged out at about £2 instead of the usual £4.99 which was quite a bargain and encouraged me to buy these books! The books is 208 pages long but could be read quite quickly die to the fact it is similar to the Horrible History books and has various cartoons, letters, pictures in it which keep the book from being boring but also take up quite a large amount of room.
This particular book is all about Mary Queen of Scots and her exciting life. Within a week of being born her father died so Mary became Queen of Scots and a monarch ? not bad! She is soon sent over to France to marry her first husband who was a bit useless and was also Queen ...
Advantages: Every song has it's good parts, most are all amazing. Disadvantages: Segregation of fast and slow is questionable
of friends, and the other is more something for when your on your own, or with a couple of people.
As usual, they start with an absolutely amazing track, 'In Your Honour', this makes an absolutely brilliant start to the rockier album, Yes, we can hear you screaming loud and clear Dave! I love the added feature where there is a pause in the middle of the song, and then D.G's vocals come back in. With some artists, pauses are just rubbish, but the foo's have the amount of drama in their songs to pull this off flawlessly. Love it, one of the best songs on the album!
What comes next is an absolute plethora of amazing songs that will take your breath away, after you've listened to them a few times, as some of them take a bit of getting used to. The album has much more of a feel good feel, like in the old days of the band with songs like Aurora ...
I don't suppose there are many people of a certain age who do not remember vividly that incredible week at the beginning of September 1997 - the week Princess Diana died. Particularly I remember the complete shock, followed by an outpouring of public grief never known before and probably never likely to be known again in our lifetime, and the hostility vented against the Royal Family for not showing their emotions and instead opting for the 'stiff upper lip!'
I was never a big Diana fan, although I did feel her death was incredibly sad. Neither am I a staunch monarchist, but I was very interested to watch 'The Queen' to see how it was possible to portray those incredible scenes in a realistic and factual way. It was interesting to note that one of the things that this film did not do, at least in my mind, was to come down on one side ...
