When I first heard the track I really liked it, and then I went off it for a while, but now it's getting closer to a UK release I am loving it again. I do hope Chris fairs well, as I do like him as an artist, but I doubt he's in any danger of getting sacked as long as the young girl audiance still follows him. The second single to follow up 'Wall to Wall' is said to be 'Kiss Kiss' featuring T-Pain, so I guess only time will tell what happens ... more
Some of you may have seen my review on Chris Brown's 2005 self-titled album, where he broke through with his debut album as a 16 year old with music that had a broard appeal. Now Chris Brown is back in 2007, and finally of age and able to sing about more 18 year old stuff.. well, if he wanted to that is. 'Wall to Wall' is set to be his comeback single taken off his second album, 'Exclusive', and does it have the same appeal as his first smash hit, 'Run It'?
Chris Brown has stated that he wants his second album to appeal to the same audiance as his first, however not to alienate the people growing up with music he has said he will throw a few 'older joints' on to the album. I find 'Wall to Wall' very similar to 'Run It' though, in that it is an easy going party song. I can't say that it hits you as strong as 'Run It' did, although it is still very catchy. Perhaps this is representative of the song only peaking at 79 in America's Billboard Hot 100, making it Chris Brown's lowest charting single ever and maybe people are doubting his ability of a follow-up album. The single is yet to be released in the UK.
The accompanying video is said to be an immitation of 1998's 'Blade', although I have strong feelings that the reason behind the choice of style in video is down to a Michael Jackson infulence. For those who don't know, Chris Brown performed 'Thriller' at 2006's World Music Awards, in costume and everything. With that being the last major thing of note for Chris Brown to do, and then come out with a very dead-vampire themed video seems to be too big of a coincidence to me. I actually find the video to be way too childish than Chris Brown should be aiming for as well, and would have much rather seen a club themed video - it all just drags out a bit as if he is trying to tell a childs story.
"I'm baaack," is the opening lyric, and Chris Brown very much is as he hits the ground running with a great beat and a good love-hate relationship subject to the song with the ladies (who are represented by the sexy vampires in the video) are chasing him from wall to wall. I have a feeling that perhaps he was advised to use vampires instead of just regular women, to perhaps keep the sexual tone of the video down. One of the most popular things about Chris over the years has not really been his voice though, but his dance moves, and he keeps them up once again and the irregular way he screams out 'wall' sounding more similar to 'wool' is bound to have people singing the song [maybe in their heads] down the street.
When I first heard the track I really liked it, and then I went off it for a while, but now it's getting closer to a UK release I am loving it again. I do hope Chris fairs well, as I do like him as an artist, but I doubt he's in any danger of getting sacked as long as the young girl audiance still follows him. The second single to follow up 'Wall to Wall' is said to be 'Kiss Kiss' featuring T-Pain, so I guess only time will tell what happens to this young artist. 'Wall to Wall' runs for just under 4 minutes, although the video runs for just over five.
Advantages: Loveable and good songs Disadvantages: The album is very limited
his first single from his follow up album, entitled 'WalltoWall'. So what is the longevity toChrisBrown's career? Only time can tell, but this works well as a short album and ChrisBrown is a name that makes me sit up and listen.. and of course he's a character that has the money making potential that he has shown in his movie appearance in dance flick 'Step Up'.

Straight off the back of his remix to 'Umbrella', which generated waves yet never got a formal release, 'WalltoWall' would be ChrisBrown's comeback single on an album that he aimed to attract an older audience as well as keeping the already young following he had. With just hearing this first single and the rest of the album yet to leak, many were already writing the guy off as it didn't hit anywhere near as hard as his first single, 'Run It!', becoming his least successful single to date only peaking at #79 on the US billboard and #75 in the UK charts. This would be the first time the artist had a release that was more successful on our shores than his native country, although nothing to write home about and 'Run It's success easily eclipsed it - that original track ...
Advantages: A lot of tracks but very few new ones Disadvantages: Not perfection
being the picture of beauty. Big Boi represents Outkast as he features on 'Hold Up', that has that clunky friendly feel of many Outkast tracks. It's just a lot of fun. 'You' on the other hand is not fun, and its empty sound will almost make you unwilling to give it a chance.

I have no idea why, but when I hear 'Damage' is gives me a vision of sandy deserts, and at points the beat almost sounds so tragic its giving you thoughts of destroyed landscapes. Why on earth it does that I don't know, when the damage is referring to a destroyed relationship. A great example of ChrisBrown's distinctive vocals however. 'WalltoWall' is not a great advert for this album, as it sounds too much like something that would have been on his ...
