Unfortunately, I have to say it seems that Slayer seem to have got into a routine of doing an aggressive album (which is what I consider to BE Slayer), then following it with an album of less aggression and more technical wizardry like they did when going from Reign in Blood to South Of Heaven.
If you ... ...Slayer then you too will probably be disappointed with this one, although like other offerings from Slayer that haven't hit the mark, this one has some good points. Jihad is a truly original offering along with Eyes Of The Insane.
As always, the lyrics are thought-provoking and contraversial, focussing on topics that others dare not consider.

If you are like me and prefer the all-out aggression of classic Slayer then you too will probably be disappointed with this one, although like other offerings from Slayer that haven't hit the mark, this one has some good points. Jihad is a truly original offering along with Eyes Of The Insane.

Still, all that said, with the sad downfall of classic bands like Anthrax and Metallica and the, frankly, extremely poor bands entering the scene nowadays, Slayer still set the tone for others to follow.
