Advantages: Everything about it. Disadvantages: It has'nt got any.
Yet another brilliant and organised cd from a member of the extremely talented and THE origanal boyband The Osmonds, yes its the origanal idol from the 70's DonnyOsmond with his latest album, Love Songs Of The 70's. This album is packed full of songs origanally from the 70's but has been given a more modern feel to it. In my opinion Donny has probably done the songs as good as, or even in some cases better than the origanal person who sung the songs! I highly recommend this cd to any one who are thinking about buying this album, or if they have only just heard of it. I also recommend this to people who are fans of the songs in this modern take to some classic songs. ...
Advantages: Mixture of ballads and upbeat tracks offering all round appeal Disadvantages: Tiny white text on a bright orange background looks good but difficult to read
tracks.
As for any underlying meaning, I think this is reference to Osmond's refound success and it being in the now and can he really trust it?
Track 13 - One Dream
This is a powerful ballad loved by many, but for some reason that I cannot put my finger on it does very little for me. I can enjoy it, sing along and when doing so I even forget that it isn't a favourite of mine, yet as soon as see the title I think - nah. And I haven't even stopped to think about if it means more than at first glance.
Track 14 - Christmas Time
This really should have been a massive Christmas song taken forward year on year. It is catchy, it is romantic, it is snuggle up infront of log-fire with your loved one gorgeous - what a shame it wasnt released as a single. The only downside with this one is that as lovely as it is, it feels a tad strange ...
Advantages: Lovely story, festive, well written Disadvantages: Short
Alison Dunwoody thought she had it all - a great job, good salary and a great life in New York City. But when the recession hits, Alison is shocked to find that she's lost her job. She's too embarassed to tell her family, and instead decides to fly home to Ireland and have Christmas with her parents, sister and 3 gorgeous nieces. Alison loves the feeling of being back home, but misses her new friend Jack from New York - he knows about her job loss and she can confide in him. Will Alison be able to keep her secret away from her family for her holiday? Or is Coming Home exactly what Alison needs to make her feel happy again?
I have enjoyed a few Patricia Scanlan novels in the past, but I haven't read anything by her in a while now. I am a bit partial to anything festive so when I saw that her latest book was going to be based ...
