THE NOTE OF CAUTION:
Kottke has experimented over the years, and some of his releases vary in general quality of content because of his insistence in pushing the envelope, especially with his voice, which may be as bad as Bert Jansch’s. Even as hard-core a fan as me has occasionally bought one and, frankly, never listened to it again. Do not be dissuaded if this has happened to you. I would urge first-time listeners to stick to "Leo Kottke: 6-and-12-String Guitar," the Capitol release "Greenhouse", or the more recent Rhino Records Leo Kottke anthology.
And if he's ever in the neighborhood, do go see him. It's a wonderful evening, especially if the setting is rather intimate.
Also, if you're REALLY into him, try and get a hold of JohnFahey's seminal Takoma album "Blind Joe Death", which he pressed in 1959 (100 copies for a total of $300...

...As one of the die-hard Queen Fans that remember their entry to the "rock"world Queen's Greatest Hits I is a must for any true fan.
As is Greatest HitsII and III! Freddie Mercury is no doubt one of the greatest Rock icons of the 20th Century, with a voice like no other. Brians guitar talent defies explanation (how can someone be that good?) and Roger and John are elements of Queen that could not overlooked - in truth and as the band themselves said they were Queen - not just 4 band members but a team, without any one of them the success would not have happened. QueenI is a tribute to the growth of rocks best known and loved band. A new generation of fans are again being introduced to Queen (albeit by 5ive) and the Greatest Hits Albums are a fine example of Queen at their best...

Advantages: key tracks from Led Zeppelin I & II Disadvantages: remastered many times since
...Taking tracks from Led Zeppelin I and II this album shows how timeless their music remains. The first album is in a way very different from what was to follow and stylistically owes a lot to Jimmy Page's previous band, The Yardbirds. Even Page's trademark guitar, the Les Paul, is missing from the first album which was recorded mainly with a psychedelicly painted Telecaster (which now resides on the wall of the Hard Rock Cafe, Whistler). From the start though, its clear to hear the tightness of the band. Every member, from John Paul Jones' locked in bass playing to Robert Plant's howling vocals fit together perfectly in this mix of blues and hard rock. Many of the acoustic to rock switches that Page incorporates into later classics like Stairway to Heaven can be first heard here too....
