Advantages: Great lyrics | Very funny | Very original Disadvantages: Some weak tracks | Will offend | Hard to find
.... Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo | Cowboy Timmy (2.16)
‘Some times he’s nutty, sometimes he’s corny he can be brown or greenish brown’
The song that is, literally, about a piece of shit. This is an early 1950’s recording performed by Cowboy Timmy. It’s a lengthened version of the one heard in Season 1 and once again the lyrics manage to crack a smile, as well as the somewhat disturbing sound effects. It managed to debut at number 7 in the single charts then climb right up to number 4 in the second week.
2. Merry F**kingChristmas | Mr Garisson (2.04)
‘On Christmas day I travel round the world and say…’
A take on how countries around the world celebrate Christmas…or not as the case may be. The content may be offensive but the context of Mr. Garisson singing it removes any feeling of it being truly mocking of other countries...

Advantages: Makes you feel Christmassy! Disadvantages: But not in July!
...- The Christmas Album. It's the archetypal hollydrenched song. Kids choir, important message, bells, brackets in the title, the works. Get rid of the kids choir and change the lyrics and you'll STILL have a top track on your hands.
2. Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid
The very first charity single to make it to number one. Readers of my 80's-slanted reviews will guess that I'm in heaven here: Paul Young, Boy George, George Michael, Sting, Bono, Bananarama (artatthemovies, down boy!), Simon Le Bon. Great song, naff lyrics (except Bono's bit) and sounds great any time of year. Sort of.
3. Merry Christmas Everybody - Slade
The daddy of all Christmas songs is this timeless effort from Noddy and the boys. Come on, how many of you have screamed "It's Chriiiiiiiiiiiistmas" in the pub at midnight on Christmas Eve?

Advantages: A good mix of modern Xmas songs and cover versions Disadvantages: None
...the song has a good beat to it.
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - This song is a cover version, I'm sure you have all heard it before as it is a classic Christmas song. Christina sings this song really well, it's one of the more traditional songs on the album. 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas, let your heart be light, next year all your troubles will be out of sight'. Her voice sounds really good on this track.
Angels We Have Heard On High - This is a really catchy song, it has a very gospel feel to it. It's not actually one of my favourites on the album. The lyrics are very traditional, 'On the day that Christ was born, the angels sing this heavenly song in excelsis deo'. The song also features Eric Dawkins and a gospel choir who sing in the background.
Merry Christmas, Baby - This song has quite a jazzy feel to it...
