Krall'sChristmas Songsis a worthy--though not particularly unique--addition to the holiday catalogue. Krall excels with an approach mastered long ago: elegant delivery that gives extra polish to a very familiar lineup. Some might find her style frosty at times, but that will come as a relief to those who want their carolers to cut through some of the holiday treacle and create a festive, yet grown-up vibe. And Krall does show off her playful side with little, personal touches. In "Winter Wonderland" she promises to "frolic and play the Canadian way", which should draw smiles from her native land. Elsewhere, she ends "Jingle Bells" with the girlishly giddy statement, "I'm just crazy about horses". Wellcan't argue with that. --Leah Weathersby

In fact, as sson as I put the CD on my Dad looked at the album cover, looked at me and said "Is that what you expected?" He was really confused because ... ...on Egg Nog in a Christmas sweater) that a sophisticated jazz take on some Christmas favourites is sexy and romantic. However, If you like Jamie Callum or Alison Krauss I'll wager this would be perfect for your Christmas entertaining.

Now my sister is always thoughtful but this particular present was inspired. The folks wouldn't know a good tune if you hit them with it. In fact, as sson as I put the CD on my Dad looked at the album cover, looked at me and said "Is that what you expected?" He was really confused because Diana looks sexy and sophisticated on the album cover.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'd ever convince Dad (even tanked up on Egg Nog in a Christmas sweater) that a sophisticated jazz take on some Christmas favourites is sexy and romantic. However, If you like Jamie Callum or Alison Krauss I'll wager this would be perfect for your Christmas entertaining.
