Advantages: Good mix of tunes Disadvantages: Not enough modern material
...DonnaSummer has had mixed fortunes over the years, mainly thanks to some alleged homophobic comments Summer was supposed to have made during the mid-1980s when AIDS was first being properly recognised.
However, the music has to be priority and this is a good collection of songs. The main styles are disco and pop. Here's a track-listing.

Advantages: diversity, progression of Joel's vocals Disadvantages: slightly more pop orientated
...Following the success of their first two albums ‘Good Charlotte’ and ‘The Young & The Hopeless’, Good Charlotte have a go at being ‘dark’ on us, supposedly going darker within their lyrics and heightening their overall sound. Now, being someone who loved their first two albums, I will honestly say that I would have loved this regardless, but it doesn’t mean that my opinion should be heard any less than a neutral. In fairness, Joel Madden’s quotes of this being a much darker record are not proven correct, with the same relative beat as was so evident on ‘The Young & The Hopeless’, yet with the success of that album what need is their to change things. Advantages: 80s influenced and anthemic, girls are doing what they want, great for a sing a long Disadvantages: few weak links, wouldn't have minded maintaining the escapism in regards to feelings, etc.

That could just be me though, maybe I have to listen to it more (or download more tracks, since I didn't think it was good enough to warrant buying). Although 'Fall Behind Me' among a coupla other tracks were cool, the video for 'I Don't Wanna Know' felt so low budget I was embarrased for the girls and it seemed that the label had their attentions elsewhere.
Gold Medal didn't have the same kinda attitude as Spend The Night or previous albums...
