"Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous" catapulted them to the top of the punk-pop heap. Once there the combo couldn't be stopped, at least in part because they endorsed their pop side as much as their punk-derived image. When naysayers tried pointing out the music's lack of substance, Charlotte's irascible core--tattooed brothers Benji and Joel Madden--challenged them with the issue of "Boys and Girls", a vacuous yet irresistibly fizzy new wave-styled goof.Chronicles of Life and Death, Good Charlotte's first post-fame album, uses that status as a loosely binding concept. The Maddens are unquestionably happy with their celebrity. But they've also realised that money won't always buy happiness, or heal their old scars. After an indulgent string section intro, the title track begins to the beep of a heart-rate monitor. "Money talks/In this world," Joel Madden sings the song's modified power pop strut. "That's what idiots will say/But you'll find out/That this world/Is just an idiot's parade." It's the jaded realization on the other side of "Lifestyles"' stardom-baiting. Whereas their previous effort was, with a few notable exceptions, boisterous punk-pop,Chroniclesincludes an echoing relationship-woe piano ballad ("The Truth"), the subdued "Ghost of You"'s synthesizers and vocal harmonies, and quirky keyboards and acoustic guitars in the lyrically bitter "The World Is Black" ("I can't live when this world keeps dying..."). Joel Madden has also matured since Young and the Hopeless--his newly developed husky tenor suits him well on the more introspective material, but can still belt out the rousing punk-pop choruses of "Walk Away (Maybe)," "Predictable," and "Secrets." The album's best track might be its greatest departure. "I Just Wanna Live" is a punchy blend of power chords, string samples, and disco beats that features Madden rapping in a Nelly-inspired flow. For all their well-crafted ambition onChronicles, "I Just Wanna Live" feels like Good Charlotte's centrepiece, since it's spiked with rock power, but gets its soul from the pop life they lead. 2.)Waldorf worldwide: This is an ok song not one of my favourites but it is good.

7.)Seasons: The start of this song starts off with an acoustic guitar tune which fits perfectly because halfway through it switches to an electric guitar. The lyrics in this song i think couldnt be any better to be honest.
8.) I dont wanna stop: i think they use those words a bit too much in this song it can get quite annoying. but i suppose i can say that alltogether its a good song
9.)I heard you: another song i love again i just think that the lyrics fit perfectly with the tune and again you can deffinatley tell its Good Charlotte
10.)The click: The start off this song is amazing the guitar tune is brilliant. again good lyrics. i like this song alot.
11.)Walk by: this is not a song i am overly keen on i dont know why exactly i just thing its annoying.
12.)Let me go: this song has a good bass start and the lyrics are fine i think this is an awesom song!
13.)Screamer: Love this song! i think that this song is perfect in everyway lyrics beat rhythm and tune you cant get better than this and the little things on this album you just cant
14.)Change:the start of this song to me is boring but it picks up a bit after the first two lines or so.
i think alltogether that this album being the first is very good and i think that it has got this band a lonnnng way and you can tell so much how they have changed and i think its a good thing that they changed a little because i think it would of all been the same if they hadnt

Advantages: good tempo Disadvantages: some slow, boring tracks
I have been a fan of Good charlotte scince a mate told me about them. At firs i wasnt that sure on them an odd looking band with eyeliner and earings. But after listering to a few track i started to like them. When this album came out that was the changing point, I loved Good Charlotte. The tracks on it are really good, but I think the song "Chronicles of life and death" is a bit to over layed. My favourite song on the album would have to be between ...

Following the success of their first two albums ?GoodCharlotte? and ?The Young & The Hopeless?, GoodCharlotte have a go at being ?dark? on us, supposedly going darker within their lyrics and heightening their overall sound. Now, being someone who loved their first two albums, I will honestly say that I would have loved this regardless, but it doesn?t mean that my opinion should be heard any less than a neutral. In fairness, Joel Madden?s quotes of this being a much darker record are not proven correct, with the same relative beat as was so evident on ?The Young & The Hopeless?, yet with the success of that album what need is their to change things. In the case of ?The Chronicles Of Life and Death? there are to be two separate releases, one incorporating life art, whilst the other features death art. Apart from that one minimal ...

GoodCharlotte - The chronicles of life and death, well where do i start! This is one of their best creations so far just after an additon to their 4 member band they release this great album. 15 excellent tracks including ' Meet my maker' a bonus on some of the CDs. I've loved listining to this album and i've had it for ages now, still can't turn it off!
You can find the lyrics in the inside sleeve which can't be found anywhere else as Epic records won't publish them on the internet due to copyright reasons.
1. Once upon a time - the battle for life and death (instrumental) - A short intro to the album.
2. The chronicles of life and death - Taken from the title of the album this is an upbeat tune.
3. Walk away (maybe) - This song is all about life and is more lyrical than upbeat.
4. S.O.S - Another song about life ...
the wrong direction, something that in secret, will bother the Madden twins immensely. From a fans perspective, I see this as an attempt to show us another, more mature element of GoodCharlotte, but the overall result is an album that, despite carrying the same strengths, adds vast weakness into the bands overall ?vibe?. The fun loving pop-punk of ?Lifestyles Of The Rich and Famous? is still here in abundance, but tracks such as the downright dreadful ?I Just Wanna Live? just , quite frankly, isn?t GoodCharlotte - and to pun the bonus track on the ?death? version of this release ??. GoodCharlotte truly have ?Met Their Maker?.
