Chronicles is a CD designed for Rush fans to see how the sound of Rush has progressed over their many successful years.
Songs on the CD include timeless hits such as Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, Distant Early Warning and Show Don't Tell.
The first CD in the boxed set is not as good in my opinion as the second. This is probably because I prefer songs with thoughtful and provoking lyrics. This is not to say that the lyrics aren't thoughtful, they are, but not in the same way as songs such as Distant Early Warning.
Perhaps one of the best songs on CD1 is 2112 which is also an album by Rush.
This was the first CD from the band I bought. I had heard of Rush and wanted to sample their music. The CD was their version of the greatest hits they have had. It is a brilliant CD for first time buyers of Rush music and after you have listened to the CD you will want to purchase other albums by them. It was competitively priced at £17.99 which is extremely good for 2 good quality CDs.
