Advantages: New facets of rock's greatest Disadvantages: Not for the casual fan
...of "Step Inside Love" and "Come And Get It", which became hits respectively for CillaBlack and Badfinger. The others include a rock'n'roll medly included during the difficult "Let It Be" sessions - Jive Bunny, Status Quo, you weren't the first, were you - and an amusing version of "Get Back", with Paul ad-libbing vocals at the end just as the police were coming to order them off the roof during that famous last live open-air performance in January 1969. The main exclusive is John Lennon's "What's The New Mary Jane", a much-hyped 'rarity' which had been rumoured as a possible Plastic Ono Band single at the time - featuring John, George, Yoko and roadie Mal Evans, but neither Paul nor Ringo.
Like its predecessors, it's a compelling insight into what made the Fab Four tick. You won't get Beatles songs polished to perfection, but you shouldn...

Advantages: Pure listening pleasure for Gerry Marsden fans. Disadvantages: The only disadvantage is the Cilla Black track
...This is a must for Gerry and The Pacemakers fans.
Pure listening pleasure. Gerry Marsden, the lead singer was in the sixties and is still a fantastic vocalist, he can have you up off your seat dancing with 'Shot of Rythm and Blues' and 'Jambalaya' and then completely slow down the mood with classic tracks such as 'Ferry Cross the Mersey' and 'You'll Never Walk Alone' the ultimate football anthem (especially if you, like I am a fanatical Liverpool fan)
There are 26 tracks to listen to both upbeat and slow I could not find any fault with this DVD except perhaps for the fact that two tracks did not feature Gerry but one featured the Fourmost, which was quite good but the other track CillaBlack, well it depends on your point of view but for me this track ruins the whole thing, (no offence Cilla) but you were at your best on Blind Date...

Advantages: Sublime music and musicianship Disadvantages: None
...Scott's club when he was invited to compose for Alfie, and was intrigued. He had never scored a movie before.
THE TRACKS
This CD, being the soundtrack to the movie, does NOT feature Bacharach's 'What's it all About Alfie?' popularised by CillaBlack et al, nor does it contain the ballad bawled by Queenie Watts during the pub brawl.
There are 6 tracks:
1 Alfie's Theme
2 He's Younger Than You Are
3 Street Runner with Child
4 Transition Theme for Minor Blues, or Little Malcolm Loves his Dad
5 On Impulse
6 Alfie's Theme Differently
Of the two versions of the main Alfie theme, the first is upbeat and 'jaunty', Alfie as Jack the Lad, the second version, final track, is still upbeat but chastened, the final theme where he realises what he has missed out on. The other tracks are lovely incidentals to the plot, eg the sombre moody 'He...
