Album Notes: 'Citrus' is the second album from New York based Asobi Seksu. Produced by Chris Zane (Ambulance Ltd., Calla) the album sees the band continue with the blend of shoegaze influenced indie pop that graced their self-titled debut. Included is the single 'Thursday' as well as the UK only bonus track 'All Through The Day'.
Advantages: too many, it's amazing Disadvantages: if you don't like madchester stuff
...of vocals by Ian Brown. This track is just beautiful.
4. Don't Stop
'Don't Stop' is an experiment based around reversing the tape of the previous song 'Waterfall' which as far as I'm concerned is the weakest track on the album.
5. Bye Bye Badman
This track is a light, breezy tune, with 'citrus sucking sunshine' providing one of the albums finest images. The teasing vocals are over this track so that each new time you hear them they sound refreshing and new.
6. Elizabeth My Dear

Advantages: Great Songs, Makes me Dance & Smile, Bloody good Lyrics Disadvantages: They are all too young to fancy me. Ho hum.

Recently (last week) they played a Secret gig in my town ~ Barnsley at the Citrus Rooms. It quickly sold out to a max 500 capacity. 2 of the band members attended Barnsley College so it meant alot to them to come back to their roots. Although by all accounts the crowd was so hyper, Alex's lyrics couldnt be heard. Poop!
They are very popular on myspace too, here they do regular updates on songs, gigs and have a comments space where fans congregate to tell them how fab they are!

Advantages: 97.4% better than a lot of stuff out there at the minute Disadvantages: The CD doesn't make a very good ashtray
...Who/What?
Three quarters Canadian, one quarter British seems to be the perfect mix, well, a better mix than Coca Cola and orange anyway, which isn’t a difficult thing really all things considered, I mean, well done on your successful pairings with vanilla, citrus zest, cherry and lemon, but orange? Anyway, time to backtrack, get off this tangent and back on to the never ending circle of Pop (short for Popular, remember that, won’t you?). Dragonette are here, they have been for a while actually, but it’s only recently that they’ve started to get their selves noticed by the great unwashed, and if you’ll give me a moment of your time, I’ll take you on the quick tour.
