Advantages: Great Consistency Disadvantages: none really
Evanescence:Fallen
Evanescence formed in 1995 by Amy Lee and Ben Moody. The band released their debut album Fallen in 2003. This band are heavy metal/ gothic, I personally think that they are more on the Heavy metal side rather than gothic.

Advantages: A few big singles Disadvantages: Inconsistent
"Fallen" came out in 2004 as the debut album from the Alternative Metal band, Evanescene, who broke through with their massive single, "Bring Me To Life", and a series of others which followed. The group take on aspects of Nu-Metal as they incorporate subtle Hip Hop and Electronica in their work, and this is what attracted myself to their stuff.
1. "Going Under"
This was the second single from the group, and following on from "bring Me o life", thi one gets them taking their Metal side a stage further as they first time you come across them, this eelemt to them comes as a surpisse as it follows lots of soft piano work before breaking into Metal, whereas this one is just full on. It gets into Nu Metal at times with a subtle re-working of the "Impeach The President" break.
**Four Stars**
2. "Bring Me To Life"
This hardcore ...
Advantages: It's Goth in a minor key with a great singer Disadvantages: It's all very unhappy

Examples can be found on http://www.evanescence.com/home.html of how interestingly Evanescence add drama to their music with fascinating if disturbing and surreal video.
The CD I have here, however, is ?Fallen? and it is available for £11.97 at Amazon. Here?s a blow-by-blow reaction to it. It?s late and my headphones are cranked up high.
1. Going Under

Heavy guitar and breathy Amy Lee start this vampiric song off. This could be Lestat?s backing band with a new singer. The ambient whispers and tuneful harmonies soften things at times but the main vocal is deep and persuasive, luring us on to some beautiful fangs maybe? On the website there is video footage of the band making the video - an interesting insight into the creative process. Amy Lee, who is the singer and piano ...
