INTRODUCTION
There have been a number of magazines that have plopped through my letterbox over the years ? National Geographic, The Economist and What HiFi amongst them - but none of them have had the enduring appeal of Haymarket Publications? cerebral football magazine ? FourFourTwo (Drat. There go half of you already!) I have been an Arsenal season ticket holder for over ten years now and am a regular contributor to one of the fanzines (Oh well, that?s another batch of you alienated).
However, despite proudly wearing the club colours, I am first and foremost a football fan and enjoy reading football literature (Stop sniggering, that is NOT an oxymoron). Banking is essential. I had already asked for the PINSenty device, which is the calculator-like thing you need to insert your debit card into, to generate a code to log into Barclays Internet Banking, but I didn't receive it for two weeks since opening the account even though other things (cheque book, paying-in book, Visa debit card) . I visited the branch again to request it again, and then the same the following week and then the same on the following week only to be told that I had not been signed up for PINSentry, which meant I would not have been able to access my account online. On the third week, I was given a number to call to request it if it still doesn't arrive. They could have given me the number in the first place to save me two additional trips to the branch!

THE NIGHT WATCH
The Night Watch is a science fiction novel written by Russian author Sergei Lukyanenko, and is the first book in the Night Watch trilogy. The book was originally written in Russian (obviously I am reviewing the translated English version), and the series as a whole has enjoyed fantastic success in Russia. It has also been critically acclaimed in other countries, including the UK, with The Daily Telegraph calling it "JK Rowling, Russian style". A bold claim indeed.

Two Banks Of Four were formed around the considerable talents of Rob Gallagher and Dill Harris, best known for their work with Galliano and the Young Disciples. They have gathered together a group of sympathetic vocalists and musicians including saxophonist Chris Bowden and Scratch Pervert Tony Vegas amongst others. Unusually for such a studio project they have already forged a formidable live reputation with their attractive mix of jazz and dance grooves. From the opener "Skylines Over Rooftops" (based around a muscular double bass) the duo have created sounds as evocative of modern London as Roni Size's images of Bristol. "Theme De La Tete" is a slice of would-be film soundtrack with its harpsichord melody floating over strings that would do Ennio Morricone proud. In fact the beautiful string arrangements throughout help to give the record a cohesive mood. You can almost taste the coffee in "Errol's Cafe" with the Arabic ambience conjured up by the sax and violin. "Routemaster" motors along nicely with scratches juxtaposed with shimmering rock steady bass, guitar and sax. Chris Bowden's soprano stretches out on "Street Lullaby," as dusk approaches, a lovely closer to a fine disc.
