...I first "discovered" one of the bands during their very own "second coming" at the height of the Britpop era. It was on October 28th 1996, at The Mayfair (god rest its soul) in Newcastle. I was at the Mayfair to watch Ocean Colour Scene play, and being only 17 (and the gig only open to 18yrs +), me and my mates planned that if we got there early we'd have a better chance of getting in (even though we pre-purchased our tickets). That night a band supported OCS, called "The Real People " from Liverpool. I still remember they were absolutley awesome and the very next day i went to my local HMV to purchase a CD. Tho only CD in-stock featuring the Real People was a "semi-compilation" CD called "Liverpool: the calm before the storm". Featuring not only The Real People but also another Liverpool band called "Rain" - Not "the rain... Read review

Classic FM Music for Drving

Advantages: Great songs - wonderful, popular tunes
Disadvantages: A few songs aren't as good as the others

...I recently bought this CD from amazon, costing £4.97 (which I thought wasn't too bad a price for a CD of anout 75 minutes of good, popular classical music), because I thought it would be nice to have to listen to when I'm learning to drive in a few months time. When the CD arrived I put it on the shelf, intending to keep it until I'm learning to drive but the attractive cover was too attractive and so I just had to listen to it - and I'm glad I did. The CD is really good, with some absolutely wonderful songs like Gabriel's Oboe and Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini (18th movement), played by famous orchestras like the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra etc. Tracks include: 1. Advantages: ALL THE CLASSICS FROM YESTERYEARS - GOOD MIXES - SOUND QUALITY
Disadvantages: SOME SONGS I WOULDN'T RATE AS A "CLASSIC"

...to the tempo & bass but hey ...) CD One consists of a few old classics combined with a few newish releases such as Tomcraft - Lonliness and a good mix by DJ Arabesque - Vision. CD Two consists of a more chilled out songs mixed in with a few hard classics like Storm - Time to Burn and the classic that is William Orbit's - Barber's Adagio for Strings which most of you will know Tiesto remixed it to his own harderd version which most of you will know. CD Three is a calm compilation of dance tracks mainly from the late 90s and early 2000s but it is a CD I most listen to in the car if I'm driving long distances as it believe it makes the journey go alot quicker when your nodding your head - obviously keeping to the speed limit and passing the journey time away.
