...plates and has an almost circusy feel.I really don't know what to make of it yet.It certainly is odd. And it all ends with the glorious Life in a Glasshouse.Haunting vocals and some wonderful trumpet from Humphrey Lyttelton.Perhaps the highlight of the album. Amnesiac is no Ok Computer.It will never be regarded as a classic,but it is good.Wheter the new Rdiohead are here to stay or not,at least we've gotten two different but very good records.And that can't be a bad thing... ...knobs and playing with things in the studio to make some noise. I can't think of any better explanation. Leave it to the poncey Sunday supplements to decide if this is "ground breaking", "edgy", "cutting", or whatever other buzzword some up-and-coming journo uses these days, because as a purely musical album it ain't got much to recommend it. When the 'Head do get it going and actually produce something approaching a song, as in the fab lazy jazz sound of Living In A Glass House (with Humphrey Lyttelton playing) and the sparse but nicely structured Pyramid Song, they show they are still capable of grinding today's opposition into the dust. Oh that the brothers Gallacher wished they could write such as the bittersweet rambling guitar line that is Knives Out "look into my eyes, it's the only way you'll ever repel the truth... Advantages: A great live performance in a small venue
Disadvantages: Huh?

...In the late 60's and early 70's, I had the pleasure of seeing most of the major bands of that period perform in concert. Sadly, The Who was one act that I missed, and I've regretted it to this very day--I can only imagine what a concert by The Who must have been like. I can picture Pete Townshend windmilling his guitar, Keith Moon frenetically working out on the drums, and Roger Daltrey prancing and posturing while singing lead vocals, while John Entwhistle was keeping this band from flying away with his solid, unassuming work on the bass guitar. If you've never heard a band perform live, well, what do you do? You purchase a recording of a live concert, of course, and Live At Leeds by The Who has been a part of my music collection for many years.
