...overlooked.
Or so I thought . . .
Then one day in work we realised (while having a random conversation) that there was a whole plethora of new 90s compilation albums out there. Now - okay, we probably ALL own a couple of these from when we actually were IN the nineties . . . but these ones are different because they span the WHOLE 90s, not just a specific few months or one year from within the decade.
After perusing the various options on play.com, I finally settled on100 Hits - 90s. Partly because with 100 songs and 5 CDs for less than a tenner is was pretty damn good value for money, and partly because there were a whole heap of songs on there that made me go "Oh my god, I had forgot ALL ABOUT THAT ONE!"
Most 90s album seem to embrace the dance genre that seemed so damn big at the time and forget that there were other types of music out...

Advantages: Good value for money, great first disc, brilliant tracks. Disadvantages: Some undeserving hits have been given a place on this album.
...First Impression:
As soon as I saw this album, I knew I had to get it. The list of songs was incredible with only part of the second disc I wasn't keen on. I remember having to save my wage for a couple of weeks to be able to buy it. I was fifteen and in a part time job around my school hours, and not getting paid much, so it took a lot of effort, but was mostly worth it.

For example, if you go to any nightclub where I live, especially the Jumpin' Jacks Clubs that are all over the country, I can guarantee 100% that before the night is out you will hear Ebeneezer Good by Shamen and Jump around by House of Pain - its inevitable!
Variety:
This is a collection...

Advantages: High quality tracks, excellent sleeve notes and photos Disadvantages: You may have most of the tracks
...Compiled by reggae experts Chris Lane, Noel Hawks and Dave Hendley (people who were actually there in '69 and love and know the music inside out), this CD is an absolute must if you enjoy the classic era of reggae. Even if you already have most of the tunes, this album is up there with other top-quality Trojan releases covering the same period, such as "Dancehall '69" and "Dawning of a New Era", and also includes a few rarities such as George Dekker's "Foey Man" to justify the purchase! The quality never lets up, with classic early reggae instrumentals, rocksteady, DJ cuts and fast skinhead reggae anthems. Just stick it your CD player and it'll never come out!
Note: four of the advertised tracks are not on here, namely "Vampire" by The Upsetters, "Swan Lake" by The Cats, "Barbwire" by Nora Dean, and "Rooster" by Tommy McCook. Don't let...
