Dave Pearce Trance Anthems 2009 -Bumper trance classic collection

Advantages: packed full of hits, some lesser known, as well as a CD of new anthems in the making
Disadvantages: Heard them all before? Possibly! But we still love them

Dave Pearce is a DJ which is synonymous with classic dance as a resulted of his long standing radio show on BBC Radio 1 entitled 'Dance Anthems'. Off the back of this success he has released a long line of classics compilations. This is another installment of what has proved to be a highly successful series. The title my mis-lead, Trance Anthems 2009 may suggest to some that this is 3 CD's of the finest in brand new trance 2009 has had and will have to offer. Unfortunately though this is not really the case. On the other side as you may expect, you have 2 CD's crammed full of all of the usual tracks we've come to know and love/hate (Delete as appropriate) over the last decade. Classical voices to relax and uplift

Advantages: Good background listening
Disadvantages: Odd mixture of music on the Uplifting disc

of church music. The first time I heard this piece I found it hard to get into. It seemd a bit discordant and there isn't really a tune running through it which you can hang onto. But now I've listened to it many more times I find it quite hypnotic. The 40 voices of the choir are divided up into 8 groups, to give a very powerful and moving effect. Wonderful. 12 Sibelius - 'Be Still My Soul'. This music was originally part of Sibelius's Finlandia, composed between 1899-1900. It was later adapted by the composer for use as a hymn tune, though in fact the words are much older than the music. They were written in the eighteenth century by Katherina von Schlegel. Classic - a creation or work considered as definitive

Advantages: 100 tracks for just over a tenner - cant beat it
Disadvantages: Only very few classics on here, a right mixture!

Slave 4 U - Britney Spears Formal Invite - Ray J Stay With Me - Ironik Pro Nails - Kid Sister Wearing My Rolex - Wiley Again im not saying theyre not good, im quite partial to a bit of woman trouble but classic r&b anthems? Overall the price you pay for what you get is superb. Do Warner only have rights to certain artists and certain songs, im not sure but for a nice mixture of tracks, some classic anthems and some garage its up there. Personally i will not be listening to it much, disc 5 i would have to say is the best one with the older tracks on here which i havent got. Have fun listening if you do purchase but just try to tippex over the words 'anthems' and 'classic' on the cover, then youre good to go! Live the dream. ...
