Not only does it serve the purpose of a songbook, but also acts as a complete resource for planning wedding music. Secondly, there is a myriad of songs which gives you the liberty to pick and choose. As compilation CD's go, this one surely falls in an above average category. A Classical Review Advantages: A great diversity of famous works Disadvantages: Not everything is perfect I am a huge fan of classical music, with a collection soon breaking the 700 marker. But where did it all begin? Well right here. When I got my first CD player, I played my parents CDs until making my first CD purchase. I stumbled along a 2-CD collection called "Simply the Best classical Anthems." Honestly, I had not the slightest clue about what music al the names on the back contained. A musical delight Advantages: Beautiful songs, beautifully sung Disadvantages: None! Ian Bostridge is the young English tenor who's been hailed as one of the biggest talents to hit the scene for a long while. Reviewers rave about his intelligence, his ability to bring out the sense of the songs he sings, and to make the texts spring to life - all the more remarkable since he came to singing quite late: he was an academic and gained his PhD before diverting to music. His new-ish disc with pianist Julius Drake - 'The English Songbook' ... ...on this disc).
