Advantages: Classic Songs Disadvantages: Not long enough!
...the songwriting on this album is un rivalled. That is why it contains such classics as Two Minutes to Midnight, and Aces High.
Musically, Powerslave is brilliant, and the song Powerslave is the best example.
Rime of the ancient mariner is one of the best epic maiden songs ever. A juke Box Classic.
Bruce's vocals are untouchable on this album. The production works brilliantly.
Has one of the best maiden album sleeves, faturing an egyptian eddie!
The mummified eddie, one of the best ever, came from this album. This eddie recently made an appearence at Metal 2000, Earls Court, London.
You must own this Maiden Album...

Advantages: It isn't another low budget set of reissues by some cheap no mark label Disadvantages: Does there have to be any!?
...This fantastic collection tracks Frank Sinatra from 1953 up until 1961. These were the years he spent with Captiol Records, the label that picked Sinatra up after he was unashamedly dumped by his previous label. Capitol played a big role in turning Sinatra into what we all know as one of the biggest and most successful recording artists of the 20th Century. This set shows you the pairings of Frank and the likes of arrangers such as Axel Stordahl and Nelson Riddle as well as Billy May. The men partly responsible for the brilliance of songs such as "I'm Walking Behind You" (originally a hit for Eddie Fisher) and "South Of The Border". These CDs take you on a chronological journey through classic tracks such as Come Fly With Me, I've Got You Under My Skin, The Lady Is A Tramp and Pennies From Heaven. Also includes a 20 page booklet!...

Advantages: An accessible introduction to the work of Richard Thompson Disadvantages: The album lacks the spontaneity of earlyer records.
...!
Amnesia (1988) was a solid album, but lacked the spontaneity of the Boyd era albums. Rumour and sigh however went some way to deal with this and from the opening song “Read about love” to the closing anti neighbours anthem of “Psycho Street”, this was an album of classic proportions, and Thompson’s best selling to date. The album also sees Thompson returning to the use of the ballad structure to construct the acoustic showpiece of the album, “1952 Vincent Black Lightning” a fast pace love story centred around the Vincent motorcycle! As usual with Thompson albums, the guitar playing is first class featuring solo’s of particular of note on “Mystery Wind” and “Mother Knows Best” and features guest contributions from fellow Fairport Convention founder Simon Nicol as well...
