Album Notes: The discs in the Jazz Classic Chronological series are reliably well selected, compiled, and presented, and RUTH BROWN 1954-1956 is no exception. Not only was Brown a first-rate R&B singer, but she helped usher in the age of classic R&B by racking up a string of chart hits for Atlantic (later home to Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and other soul titans). This set collects Brown's early work on Atlantic. There's still something of the jazzy chanteuse in these recordings (for Brown's earliest sides, check out Jazz Classic's 1949-1950 set), but one can still hear the passionate vocalist fitting into the R&B shoes that took her to stardom in the late '50s and '60s.

Another Montell Jordan classic. This is more of an R'n'B type tune. The theme is all about hooking up with a girl. A very good chill-out, laid back classic. "Something for the honeyz." The title mixes with the style of the tune, all soft and chilled out and more of a female's song than a males.

...Introduction : Chris Brown , the young R & B star who hails from the state of Virginia is back with his great new album - Exclusive. Chris Brown is my most favourite R & B singer and he may be yours to. If you are a fan of R & B then this album is great for your taste in music. His voice is a qaulity I don't find in many other artists , and really enjoy to listen to this music from his album every single day to get me in the mood for the day to come. R & B isn't everybody's cup of tea , but i assure anyone who listens to any of the fine tunes from this album they will realise the talent within Chris Brown and may begin to become a fan of R & B classics.
