Close To You - Tony Lee Trio

Advantages: Good album overall, catchy!
Disadvantages: Can become repetitive.

...Despite the uninspiring cover art, this is one of my favourite Alkaline Trio CDs - I've heard all of them, and this one, despite not being the best overall, has a lot of my favourite Alkaline Trio songs on it, and the first 2 singles they released - "Stupid Kid" and "Private Eye". Alkaline Trio can be classified as pop-punk, alternative, emo - anything, depending on your definition. If you like bands such as Taking Back Sunday, The Starting Line, MXPX, Hot Water Music, Sugarcult and anything else with that style, you'll probably be a fan of Alkaline Trio. "Private Eye" is the first song on the album, and is probably one of my most-liked songs by Alkaline Trio. I've been a fan of Alkaline Trio since I heard this song. This album sees him change from boyband member to solo star and i would have to say that it was definately a good decision to try his hand at his own work. This album, in my opinion, hears musical influences from such artists as Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross among others. Debut single, Army of Lovers, starts the album off and as the album plays on, it just gets better and better. ...Another wonderful Alkaine Trio album this is a must have!! i wasnt disappointed when i bought the album this is one of their finest works. The band definatley havent lost there dark side with songs that remind you of the goddamnit album and crimson. Over & Out and Help me being easily one of the classics! All eleven tracks are amazing from start to finish i havent got anything bad to say about this album i would definately buy this album if you are an Alkaline Trio fan and i would also buy this album if im a fan of good music the san francisco punks have done good once again A welcome back Alkaline Trio album. Although Love Love, Kiss Kiss was a slight cahnge from the Alkaline Trio that we i know and love i couldnt fault it.... Read review
