Advantages: Easy listening, great voices and songs
Disadvantages: none in my opinion

...This album is one of the most beautiful in my collection, and comprises of the absolute best of Boyz II Men. Their rich voices with haunting harmonies appear on every track, ranging from the classic "I'll Make Love to you" to the blues-style, funky "In The Still of the Night". Guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye is the fantastic "One Sweet Day" with Mariah Carey - undoubtably the best song on the album, along with "Water Runs Dry" and "On Bended Knee". If you're looking for a collection of quality, meaningful R'n'b love songs, then there's nobody that does it better than Boyz II Men. A must for your collection. The first say 8 or so songs are wonderful but as you get to the end of the album the songs aren't as good.However the great songs at the beginning make up for it. ...Firstly you shouldn't even need to be reading this review you should have bought this album (or be planning to buy this album) on the Boyz reputation alone. Or perhaps you don't know much about Boyz II Men then you've come to the right place... The Philly quartet's third album has a more mature sound than the previous albums this change is reflected in the title of the album "Evolution". As group member Nathan Morris puts it "Evolution is the act of positive change, growth, maturity...Boyz II Men". The album consists of 14 soulful Tracks where the Boyz sing about heartbreak/loneliness in tracks like the Shawn Stockman penned "Doin' Just Fine" and the Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced "4 Seasons of Loneliness". In other tracks they pay homage to their Mamas in "A Song for Mama" and to God in "Dear God". My favorite track... Read review

Advantages: Horner at his most inspired
Disadvantages: The album is too short

...All great composers have their beginnings and their first successes. For James Horner it was Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan in 1982. Horner poured all his inspiration into the music and created a fun, adventurous score that was a perfect fit for the film. Whereas Goldsmith's theme from the first film was a brassy fanfare, Horner opted for a more strings-on approach, making the main theme highly romantic and adventurously epic. Horner's main theme indeed is right at the top along with Goldsmith's more famous theme and can easily compete with it in quality, if not in equal memorability. The "Main Title" before proceeds into the wonderfully nautical and romantic string theme, that paints with wide strokes on an epic canvas. Khan's theme is a short motif played on brass or woodwinds.
