Advantages: Every single thing that is right with music on a CD Disadvantages: Doesn't have every Massive Attack song on it ever made
Corr blimey! Imagining quite who wouldn't want to listen to the sonic perfection of Massive Attack is possibly beyond me.
Massive Attack have always been a part of my life, although an indirect one, as my mother was a very big fan of all their releases, but it was not until litrally a couple of weeks ago it truly dawned on me the beauty of their work.
I was sat in a hot sweaty exam room with 13 other students taking ... ...page and the next track on the prompt CD began playing Teardrop to my humble ears.
For a few minutes, I actually had to stop answeting questions, to simply sit and take this track in properly. I was blown away with a feeling of self worth and accomplishment, when all I had done was listen to my exam piece?

I very quickkly went out to buy my own copy of Collected, as my mother did not have it, and I only really wanted the best tracks form all her albums, and I was not dissapointed.
It should say enough to any potential buyer that massive attack are considered such pioneers of production and purveyors of excellent musical ability to appear on an official Music Technology A level examination, to say that listening to this CD has got to be something of a once in a lifetime experience.
Other than 'Teardrop', other particularly memorable tracks include (but are not liited to.. after all.. this is a best of collection!) 'Unfinished Sympathy' and new single 'Live With Me'
I could write on and on about this CD, but truly, the only way forward now, is to buy. Onward and upward my friends, expand your horizons and LISTEN TO MASSIVE ATTACK
Advantages: essential selection Disadvantages: maybe a few too many fillers
Right let's start with the information, this is essentially a 2 CD and 1 DVD collection withthe second Cd and the DVD on a double-sided disc.
Little irritation, the writing is very small on the discs and the sleeve, and the discs are difficult to remove without touching the playing surface.

Album Notes
Massive Attack was always the most creative and exploratory group of the trip-hop movement, and, at their best, made some of the most evocative electronica-influenced pop of the 1990s. Though all of the band's albums are worth considering individually, COLLECTED is a highly effective one-stop primer, drawing equally from BLUE LINES, PROTECTION, MEZZANINE, and 100TH WINDOW (and adding one previously unreleased track). The band's mix of glacial, heavy-lidded grooves, sliding electronic textures, jazzy highlights, and nocturnal atmospheres topped off by a rotating cast of male and female vocalists is here in all its glory, making COLLECTED a great place to sample Massive Attack's stunning catalogue.

On the limmited edition it has all the music videos on it as well! An excellent touch I think!
The cover is the only downside that I have found, it looks nice now but after time it's going to be a bit scruffy as it's made like a hard back book with no plastic covering. (*)
