...Love her or hate her, Tina Turner is an outstanding performer with forty years experience in the Music Industry. To list her achievements and awards would make for a review in itself. Born in Nashville Tennessee on 26th November 1939, she is still out there strutting her stuff with an energy that many a younger artiste would envy. There must be few people who do not know some of her amazing story, from rags to riches, Anna Mae Bullock had a hard life, exploited from the age of 16 by Ike, her manager and later husband, she finally broke away from an abusive marriage which lasted 18 years. Now over sixty and in “semi-retirement” she is still adored by her many fans and is trying to get into the movie industry. ...Tina Turner has been around for decades. I think everyone can quote a song from her be it ‘What’s love got to do with it’ to ‘Proud Mary’ to ‘Golden Eye’. This is her Greatest Hits album, which collects her best hits until 1991 when the album was released. It has 18 tracks, which includes duets, with the likes of Rod Stewart, and live songs. The sleeve to the cd does not have the song words, which I find sad. I have noticed with many greatest hits albums that the song words are not there, it is a great shame cause it takes me ages to learn the words to sing along to. ...The title sums up this compilation! Tina's gutsy vocals and her positive spirit shine through on a fitting tribute to her solo career. Tina's voice was made for rock music. She can still mix it with the best of them. She has come a long way from her early career and well-documented relationship with Ike, to become a true Superstar. This album basically charts her spectacular comeback in the '80s to become the undisputed Queen of Rock, and covers up to the early '90s. If you like Tina Turner you'll love this album. Classics like "Let's Stay Together", "Steamy Windows", "Private Dancer", and "The Best" are on here, plus the occasional oldie- "River Deep-Mountain High" and an updated version of "Nutbush City Limits" Nobody quite does it like Tina.
