...I bought this because I liked a couple of Queen songs. But after I listened to it I quickly realised that this was the best band ever! I find that when you buy a compliation ofsongs or a Greatest hits album you still skip songs, you won't in with this. The first CD is great and contains many great songs, the second CD is great and contains some more great tracks, the third CD is contains collobrations with Queen including, Elton John, David Bowie, George Michael, Wyclef Jean, and also contains some solo work by Brian May and the great Freddie Mercury, the best song on this CD is "No-one But You". Advantages: Comprehensive round up of the big tunes of 2008
Disadvantages: No beyonce! shock, and some horrible non-R&B on CD2

...As another year draws to a close and the Christmas madness begins as sure as sure can be you know you the music store shelves will be packed full of compilations. Restrospective compilations are still the flavor de jour, and R&B Collection 2009 (As it is oddly entitled) features a round up of all the tracks that did the business in yes, 2008. What we have is a nicely packaged, although the cover is a little bog standard, 2 CD set with a bonus DVD featuring 15 music videos. This will undoubtedly set this one apart from a lot of the field. But more importantly on a compilation such as this one, how does the track listing measure up! I will now take you on a whirl wind tour of the 40 tracks featured on the album commenting on some of the more stand out efforts. ...Love them or hate them Queen will always be a group that will stay in the memory of our generation,simply because their success throughout the years has echoed around discos and parties when we were younger,karaoke machines nationwide or stealing the show at live aid some twenty odd years ago.you know that you could always name a Queen track if asked to do so.I am writing this review with an open mind and having played this cd many times this is my opinion. May i point out that this review is for the platinum collection that was released in 2000 then re-released in 2006 with the new cd cover in a platinum coloured cardboard sleeve.There is no difference to the content of the cd's THE PACKAGING........ A silver coloured 3 cd set with the three greatest hits albums displayed on the front with the simple Queen name above... Read review
