'Arry and Bert is a fun short book in the my Thomas Story Library. It is number 31 in the collection. The cover of the book has a picture of both 'Arry and Bert and above this there is a yellow banner with the title in red lettering. The back cover of the book is also yellow and has small pictures showing other titles available in the collection.
THE STORY
The book starts with an introduction from the Fat Controller. He tells us how 'Arry and Bert are diesels and that they love playing tricks on the steam engines and getting them into trouble.
The story then starts with is being Halloween on the Island of Sodor and the engines were enjoying picking up the passengers and seeing them dressed up as funny things. That evening Thomas and Emily had to go to the yard to collect iron trucks from 'Arry and Bert and deliver them to ...
Advantages: Good cross section of artist work Disadvantages: not to everyones tastes
A cracking album from one of the u.k top folk artists. This album shows a true cross section of work from Bert's repertoire. Personally, i like every track on the album and as a fellow musician Bert's arrangements are exceptionally good and complex! There are the traditional tracks like "Black waterside" (Led Zeplin used Bert's arrangement for one of their own tracks,) aswell as reading of "Nottamun Town" and the murder ballad "Bruton Town."
If you like your english folk music then you can't go wrong with one of the best examples of folk guitar. This album is a mixture of self-penned songs, trad folk and examples of the tunes that were taken into his band The Pentangle.
I have been a fan of Bert's for years and this album is one of the best examples of his career spanning the last 40 yrs. ...

quickly the rithmicity and the tones of the guitar.
This compilation tries to mix the stages of his entire collection but is not doing a very good job.
And thats because it is not gradual in any way and does now respect the order of the songs for the listener to really understand the evolution of this artist
So if someone listens to this compilation it will probably think that bert weedon was not such a genius but his music was just ok.
That is wrong in my opinion and thats why the creators of this complilation are to blame
Thats why If you will own this compilation I advise you to listen first to the next selection of tracks made by me from this compilation which will give you a first clue of him and his great music:
