embraces a characteristic range of styles, from Broadway tunes to jazz and blues. The joyful opener, "My Baby Just Cares For Me", was recorded almost as an afterthought, but when it was re-released after being featured on a 1987 Chanel No.5 commercial, it became the biggest hit of Simone's career. On the same session she plays Duke Ellington's "Mood Indigo" with a swing, and brings a bluesy, bitterly-restrained anger to the song "Don't Smoke In Bed". There's also the baroque flourish of "Love Me Or Leave Me", the quiet desperation of unrequited love in "He Needs Me", and "Plain Gold Ring", which has the spare sadness of an ancient folk ballad. --Lucy O'Brien

*** RECOMMENDATION ***
I am only a music lover, not a musician and neither a music-critic. Nevertheless, I have the courage to say that we will not regret to add this CD, Feeling Good The Very Best of NinaSimone, into our priceless personal collection. Even if we buy it only for listen Ne Me Quitte Pas.
*** NOTE ***

It is a pure soul track, a song that moulds the listener into a somber but content mood to begin with, then has them up on their feet singing as load as they can by the end. The second track is her religious masterpiece, Sinnerman. you can sense the faith in this track - one clearly derived from an upbringing in gospel churches. The third is 'Don...
