...As everyone probably knows now, I am a great fan of the American band called TOTO. They are not very popular in England, but their more than 25 years on the musical scene has made them one of the greatest bands on Earth (honestly do you really think Britney will still be around entertaining her fans in 25 years?). Not that I am biased, but they have released some very famous songs, like Rosanna and Africa, have always been satisfying fans all over the world, from the US to Japan with loads of album releases and concert tours, and they don't just come and go like other very popular - but too fashionable - artists.
This first Best Of album was released in 1990. TOTO had already been known for 13 years, and the songs were picked from the first seven albums released by TOTO since they started.
By then, TOTO had already had three main lead...

Advantages: The first TOTO classics are on this album - Some good songs Disadvantages: It's the beginning, and TOTO has gone better and better over the years
...I have been a strong fan of TOTO's for quite a few years now... I got introduced to them through their Legend album (not available in the UK) which is a compilation of their biggest hits, when I still lived in France. As I really liked the CD I then decided to buy their albums, and now I have got them all, and I really love them.
Unfortunately, and quite disappointingly, TOTO doesn't seem to be very popular in Britain, and I don't know the reason why. Is it the music genre that the British don't like, is it the lyrics?
As far as I am concerned, and it seems the rest of the world thinks the same, TOTO is definitely one of the best bands Earth has even seen. The band has matured and got better over the years. And they ve been playing for more than 25 years now, and are still working together... apparently a new CD is coming soon...

Advantages: All of the songs are pretty much equally strong. Disadvantages: 10 tracks doesn't seem like an overabundance for a greatest hits albums.
...This is basically a Totogreatesthit album, and I recommend it to anyone who likes soft rock (and anyone who doesn't for that matter). The album starts with Hold The Line, which was Toto's 1st single which was released in 1977. The tune is great, but the song doesn't contain the strongest lyrics on the album, but it is still pretty good. Rosanna, which follows Hold the Line, is also a love song, but it's probably slightly faster then Hold the Line. Africa is probably the best known Toto song, and it is the best song on the album (it's unusual due to the use of traditional African instruments, which means that it provides a nice contrast to the rest of the songs on the album).
Georgy Porgy is another love song, and it is a great song which is let down slightly by the weak chorus. Live For Today is a bit heavier then the first 4...
