Advantages: The Cream of Extreme's musical output Disadvantages: Too many tracks from 'Pornograffitti'
...- reminiscent of Van Halen's Eruption
Kid Ego - weakest track
Wind Me Up - Extremely catchy chorus
When I'm President - One of the best songs on the collection - reminiscent of AliceCooper's Elected (whom he namechecks on the song)
More Than Words- heartfelt ballad
It's A Monster - excellent dance song
Decadence Dance - really catchy riff for all you air guitarists
Hole Hearted - great acoustic number
Get The Funk Out - Metal Funk to the last
Song For Love - very catchy song
Cupid's Dead - second weakest song - but good nonetheless
Warheads - great, great song
Hip Today - nice song to close the album
Altogether a great buy for 6.99 - HMV and Virgin both do it - just a shame about the presentation - its rather lacklustre. Don't let that put you off though - Extreme are a class act....

...Smile marks new and old territories for the Jayhawks. With the addition of a drum machines and scratchy guitar riffs on songs such as "Somewhere In Ohio" and "Queen of The World" the Jayhawks broaden their musical sound. At the same time they deliver their signature Americana melodies on "Break In The Clouds" and the touching "Mr. Wilson." The Jayhawks second album without co-founder Mark Olsen is bluntly more Pop then past efforts and may leave long-time fans scratching their heads in wonderment. But the quality song writing and production work by the legendary Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, AliceCooper) make the Smile a worthy addition to your CD collection....

Advantages: Great Album Disadvantages: Beginners Only, Don't Bother If You Already Own Trashes The World
...in The Last Temptation.
Live versions of the 70's classics Under My Wheels, Billion Dollar Babies, I'm Eighteen, No More Mr Nice Guy, Only Women Bleed and Schools Out are taken from the Trash Tour and are from the same performances as chronicled on the Trashes The World Video.
Finally a brilliant rendition of the old Hendrix classic finishes off this album, this track was previously unreleased on any format.
In my opinion this is a great collection and when combined with the Beast Of AliceCooper, it proves to be a great way of getting into AliceCoopers work....

Advantages: A Curiosity Disadvantages: Chronicles A Bad Time In Alices Career
...This show was recorded shortly before Alice was admitted to hospital for his chronic alcoholism. Alice has often said he wished this album had never been released. If you compare this tired washed out Alice to the Older but fitter Alice from Fistful Of Alice you can see that the rot definately set in. The album itself is intersting to listen to and great form a curiosity point of view but if you looking to start collectingCoopers work definately don't start here.

Advantages: Great Compilation Disadvantages: Only Covers 1970 -1974
...This is a best of compilation CD from the original shock rocker. It covers the period of 1970 - 1974 era which was the era of the AliceCooper Group. After this period AliceCooper became a solo artist starting from the album Welcome To My Nightmare. This collection is a great means of getting into Alices work.
1. Schools Out (Classic No 1 Single)
2. Under My Wheels (Fun Song, almost Speed Metal In Parts)
3. Billion Dollar Babies (One of the best drum patterns ever)
4. Be My Lover (Light hearted kitsch rocker)
5. Desperado (spanish guitar power ballad)
6. Is it my body (disturbing in parts)

Advantages: One of the Best Albums of the Seventies Disadvantages: The Calendar is out of date now
...The second Cooper album I purchased, and Alice never surpassed it although he can still produce excellent music and has a brilliant stage show.
The album contains Coopers finest eight minutes in "Halo of Flies" which is an excellent , fun but dark rock epic , including a snatch of the tune to "My Favourite Things" (with new lyrics).
Add the wonderful Desperado, Dead Babies and Killer and you have a classic album.
Even the straight rock and roll of Under My Wheels still sounds fresh after , God, it is, thirty years.
Its on mid price, its one of the best albums of the seventies, it should be in your collection....
