Intro:
In February 2004 Kanye West shocked the world with this astounding album which is named "The College Dropout" which consisted of 21 tracks, including a few skits which is what gave this album such a great personality to it.
Genre:
Hip-Hop / Rap.
List of Tracks:
1.Intro. 2.We Don't Care. 3.Graduation Day (Skit). 4.All Falls Down (feat. Syleena Johnson). 5.I'll Fly Away. 6.Spaceship (feat. GLC and Consequence). 7.Jesus Walks. 8.Never Let Me Down (feat. Jay-Z and J. Ivy). 9.Get Em' High (feat. Talib Kweli and Common). 10.Workout Plan. 11.The New Workout Plan. 12.Slow Jams (feat. Twista and Jamie Foxx). 13.Breathe In Breathe Out (feat. Ludacris). 14.School Spirit Skit 1 (Skit). 15.School Spirit. 16.School Spirit Skit 2 (Skit). 17.Lil' Jimmy Skit (Skit). 18.Two Words (feat. Mos Def, Freeway and The Harlem Boys Choir). 19.Through The Wire. 20.Family Business. 21.Last Call.
There was a total of 5 singles from Kanye's album! which is amazing to think that this was just his debut album! The singles included - Through the Wire; Slow Jams; All Falls Down; Jesus Walks and finally The New Workout Plan.
Conclusion:
Overall I would give this album a 10/10 but if it was possible i would give it way more than that! I think that Kanye has used a very well selected range of samples in each of his track which makes Kanye what he is today. Not only does Kanye's album have great samples, he gives the best of lyrics which are true to what is happening in his life. A good example of this is in his track " Through the Wire" which is about a car crash that he was in 2002, which Kanye felt strongly about and a sense of religion shines through in nearly all of his songs, i think this is because he is so grateful that he survived the car crash. So in conclusion i highly recommend that anyone who doesn't already own this CD, should go out and buy it!! I very much doubt that you will be disappointed!
