music and 25 tracks, this release is as definitive as a single disc can get, following Billie Holiday from her recordings in the 1930s, through to the 50s. Whether in or out of jazz, Holiday is simply one of the incomparably great singers of the twentieth century, her voice sensual, resigned, bitter or haunted, she carries each of these classic cuts with her own unique style. The only drawback with this release is the lack of any notes detailing the individual tracks. Nevertheless, the album opens with an easy-going "These Foolish Things", instantly transporting the listener to another world and Holiday's utterly personal way with a lyric through versions of Gershwin's "Summertime", "A Fine Romance" and "The Way You Look Tonight". There are more Gershwin masterpieces to follow, with "They Can't Take That Away From Me" and "I Loves You, Porgy", while Holiday's own "God Bless The Child" retains all its heartfelt sentiment. The album concludes with melancholy string-backed recordings from Holiday's later years, ending with the sadness of "For All We Know". This really is jazz at its best. --Gary S. Dalkin
Advantages: Great tracks, loads of emotion packed inside! Disadvantages: Not so much tracks from her first album

Billie Paul Piper was born in 1982 in Swindon. Since she was tiny, she dreamed of performing and attended various dance classes and drama groups! When she was 13, she won a place in Sylvia Young Drama School and stayed there in London. When she was 15, she was given the opportunity of a lifetime! Innocent Record Company offered her a record deal! Without hesitating, Billie jumped at the chance, and became a new face for music - a young, lively, bubbly teen!
Billie's first single, 'Because We Want To', went straight to number one - a massive achievement! Following that, Billie had several other fantastic hits and a great album, 'Honey To the Bee'. Billie promoted this album by going on tour, then taking a short break afterwards.
When her break was over, Billie...

Advantages: Humour - Falco's family life (+) excellently researched by Davis (+) gripping story Disadvantages: Little physical and 'chases' description (-) a little too family life-related at times
..."The Daily Gazette". Although he is thought to have gone on holiday to the countryside - as most people in the city do - he has in fact gone missing. This is the central plot and is reflected in the title "Scandal Takes a Holiday": he is not just any columnist, but what is referred to as a gossip reporter, letting all the readers know of all the scandal going on!
Marcus Didius Falco is the main character and acts as the narrator. He is married to a woman called Helena Justina and they have two daughters. A private informer and investigator, he and his wife travel to Ostia Antica, also "on holiday". This is the place illustrated on the front cover of the book: it is a major archaeological site and a harbour in Rome which sports ancient and classical buildings, also on the cover. Falco finds out that Infamia is actually called Dicclep...

Advantages: Nearly everything Disadvantages: Cheaper Films
...helps the film, it wouldn?t be as good with less good actors. Cameron Diaz is a very well known actress, and one of my favourites, she has starred in films such as What Happens in Vegas, In Her Shoes and There?s Something About Mary as well as voicing a major character in all three Shrek films. In this film she manages to play Amanda with just the right mix of humour and seriousness. Kate Winslet is also an acclaimed actress, for me she was the best out of the four in the film although they were all very good. She seems to give her character so much depth, with a really wide range of emotions throughout the film, and you see her in both funny moments and moments where she is left emotionally vulnerable. Jude Law is the smooth talking British man who falls in love with Amanda, the woman who is staying in his sisters house, played by Cameron...
